Moving your backpack to 3.0
Hi folks!
In early January 2019, Scratch 3.0 will launch and become fully integrated in the Scratch Online Community. When this happens you’ll also see an updated backpack tool. The updated backpack will resolve many of the bugs associated with the current backpack.
As part of this update, all items that are currently in your backpack will be removed. We wanted to give you a heads up so you can look through your backpack for things you want to keep after the launch of 3.0.
Not sure how to save items from your backpack? You can create a new project and pull the items, one by one, into the project. Save this project until after the launch of 3.0 when you can re-add them back to the backpack!
Here is a project that shows exactly how to do this: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/265112757/

Bit of a shame, but if it means an improved backpack it's great!

Ceebee, I have a question: Are you going to remove this website, all our projects and backpack stuff? Or will be there two websites, one for Scratch 3.0 and one for Scratch 2?

Good question! All of your accounts, projects, comments, studios, etc will all still be here when we launch Scratch 3.0. The only thing that we won't be able to bring over is your backpack items. I hope that helps clarify!

Remember, Flash is going to be useless in 2020, so you would only have 1 year with it before it is gone forever. Ceebee, I have a question: Are you going to remove this website, all our projects and backpack stuff? Or will be there two websites, one for Scratch 3.0 and one for Scratch 2?
