Bans

I think that there should be a way for bans to be visible.
I don't think that the reason because they were banned should be visible.
Some ways you could do it is by

1.Adding a simple little tag on their profile stating it, along with making comments disabled on their profile.
2.Making their name red on studios, comments, forum posts and things of that sort.
3.Not making the 404 error when ever you try to look at a profile

And I don't think we would have to worry about witch hunts or harassment seeing as that in and of itself is breaking the rules and can result in a ban.
I believe that this section of the Terms of Use would prevent those things from happening as much

3. Rules of Usage
3.1 The Scratch Team supports freedom of expression. However, Scratch is intended for a wide audience, and some content is inappropriate for the Scratch community. You may not use the Scratch service in any way, that:

1.Promotes bigotry, discrimination, hatred, or violence against any individual or group;
2.Threatens, harasses, or intimidates any other person, whether that person is a Scratch user or not;
3.Contains foul language or personal attacks;
6.Except in connection with organizing Scratch day events, asks any other user for personally identifying information, contact information, or passwords;
or
7.Exposes any others person's personally identifying information, contact information, or passwords without that person's permission

Bans

Rejected:
26: Showing when users are banned:
Bans are supposed to be kept private between the user and the ST, and some banned users might not want users to know that they got banned.

may I ask where you got that information from? (just wondering)
plus I don't think that a banned person should get the option to say whether or not a ban is know seeing as they broke the rules that they agreed to when they signed up.

But you have a fair point

Please read the stickies before posting.

No support, as per the above. We don't want to give banned Scratchers the chance to be humiliated because they were banned.
EDIT: Ninja'd

So sorry, I won't do it again.
but why didn't a scratch team member make the topic of rejected posts, but instead a scratcher made it…

Because the Scratcher that made it had information from the Scratch Team, and was also a helpful Scratcher.
