How To Build Up A Good Reputation (On Scratch)

This is a really great guide! I have been following the friendly parts of this guide since day 1, but all the other stuff has really helped! This thread by far deserves this sticky, I'm just sad that around half the comments here are spam and advertisements, so in case anyone here sees this, then please post your project somewhere else. You'll get more views and Much less hate. Great Guide!

How To Build Up A Good Reputation (On Scratch)

Wonderful guide! New Scratchers should definitely be encouraged to see this. I notice a lot of Scratchers gaining pretty bad reputations pretty quickly because they don't know any better– This would be so helpful to them and to the rest of the community. I suggest adding to the advertising part that open studios are great for getting views and that it is important to check a person's profile to make sure they are okay with those kinds of comments on their profile. Keep up the great work, I hope this gets more attention!

How To Build Up A Good Reputation (On Scratch)

Well I've had my project up for ages (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/204871338/) yet, there's still not very much attention on it. I've spent over 100 hours straight on it, and I consider it to be feature material… Please check it out quickly

how do you post a project online? I am new on scratch and need a little help .I have made 5 projects but none of them are found online. It would be very nice of you if you would help.
If you click the ‘See project page’ button when you're inside the project, then you can edit the instructions and notes and credits. When you're sure everything is ready, you can click the share button above the project. If you're in your stuff (folder next to your profile name), then you can click the name of your project to go straight to the front of your project.

What do I do if almost no one knows about me? I only have one follower. It's not like someone is going to search up my projects. I'm pretty new. I have a coloring contest that I made today and is curently is set to close 30/6/18. I want to have a few entries before then.

How do I get someone to see it without spamming?

Thanks so much!
I believe there is a show and tell section of the discussion forums where you can advertise your projects. I'm not sure how it works, since I'm still getting used to the forums myself.
How I (think) I got noticed, was I like to look at lots of different kinds of projects. I'll search for things I love, and just be nice and give friendly criticism whenever I could. I think that's how a lot of people found me.

Like I said earlier, I believe there is a show and tell forum you can advertise in. There are also studios where you can go for art requests and art trades, so I would suggest joining one of those.

Sorry, accidentally clicked submit.

Anyways, it looks like you've already figured it out. But for those who don't know how to do it, go to the discussion forums home and go all the way to the bottom. You should be able to find a button that says something about signatures and change it there.

There are just to many advertisements for me to quote, so I'll just say this: There are other places to advertise. It makes it easier for everyone if you advertise on the right places.

Anyways, those are all the questions I'm going to be able to answer today. Hope I helped everyone who didn't know the answers to these questions. Scratch on!

It seems to me like it's the same concept as featured projects. So it's probably the Scratch Team putting them higher on the board so everybody can see them. Well, at least anybody who goes to the Discussion Forums. XD

Report a topic, with the reason: “Sticky this topic please” or something. I think that's how.

Another way to advertise is to add a project into a studio that allow all types of projects and also allow anyone to add projects or we can give a link to a studio if the project suit the theme. Those of my projects that was sucessfully added to SDS or another featured studio have higher views that those whom i did'nt manged to add.
