Scratch Accessibility for Low-vision and Blind Users
What about using a program called JAWS to do it? Hi!
I’m a member of the Scratch Team, and over the next two years, I’ll be working on a project to make Scratch more accessible to Scratchers with low-vision or blindness.
Before I start designing and building, I want to hear about your experience with Scratch and how you think Scratch accessibility can be improved–especially if you have blindness or low-vision. Your stories, thoughts, and feedback will guide the project and make sure that I’m making changes that improve Scratcher experiences, so please share on this forum!
Thanks!
Tina

Coole Idee! You could add a feature when you hover your cursor over a block and then the editor will say what that block is called!

I can't relate to this, as my only vision problem is nearsight, which is why I use glasses. But I hope this gets implemented, this will help the blind, and Scratchers like kenny2scratch

, I think people who cannot see a lot of light like the one our devices give of , then I think there should be a mode which dims the light of the screen while using scratch .

They can have sound on the website, kinda like those ones for little kids that cant read so it tells them what their clicking. they might have to have someones help to get the computer turned on, but, once here and if they had their mouse hover over a link, say, the scratch home link, the speakers on their computer would have a voice say “Scratch Home” or something like that.

Great news! I don't have excellent vision and may become full blind if I'm not careful, and I think this will defiantly be more serene to those who have low vision or who are blind.
Maybe I'll look more profoundly into this as soon as I'm on a different device!
Bye!

If you mean with a voice, that's a good idea for low-vision people, but sadly, it wouldn't work for people who are blind. I have a low vision and it's a strain to read the tiny words. Thanks!Coole Idee! You could add a feature when you hover your cursor over a block and then the editor will say what that block is called!

What if someone made a special computer screen that blind people could feel like the special books? but that would probably use advanced nano technology and isn't really something we can do now I guess lol.
