Games that don't have sequels but deserve at least one

sorry.
someone needed to do it.
No one needed to do it.
I was gonna post that as a joke but I was gonna point something out that I am now.

I feel it already closed great. Not every good game nor every popular game needs a sequel. A spiritual successor maybe but no sequel.

Yeah, I think some kind of successor game that uses the same kind of vibe would be great, but any extension to the original game wouldn't really be necessary and would cause a lot of plot holes.

It's like those cult classic TV shows or movies or what not

It's awesome while it lasts and you want to feel that feeling more but there's a point where that feeling would be retracted from once it gets past a certain length

Yeah.
Some things are built for sequels: they have endless possibilities for stories and events that can stretch out for ages if kept fresh. Other things work best on their own, existing as a singular tale with a satisfying conclusion that extra tampering or extending would distort. Some things can really be both.

Actually, yeah. I just put it there because it, well, it's great! Cheers to Toby. But there's so many cringe AU's out there, the fandom needs to stop. Not saying there aren't great ones, but we need to stop.

Minecraft actually could use a sequel. In the current game there are many features that deserve an overhaul. Some unbalanced features in Minecraft include the progression system (only iron and diamond are used and diamond is overpowered) and the elytra (makes other forms of transport obsolete once acquired). However, overhauling these features could cause bitter controversy. For example, Minecraft 1.9 was made to improve the combat system but it changed combat so much that some people got angry. If the Minecraft developers had just made a sequel with better combat, then they would have avoided much of the controversy.

Also, after releasing a Minecraft 2, Mojang could continue to add updates to Minecraft 1.

If Minecraft 2 is actually released, I will eat a sock and post a video of it for the internet to see, and change all of my usernames on every website to “BiebersGurl4Lyfe”

Just going to quickly mention what I think about your take on what needs to be improved

- Progression system: Gold really needs more uses besides powered rails, and maybe there should be more expensive items that take a lot of diamonds, but diamonds are supposed to be OP considering how (comparatively) rare they are.

- Elytra is an expensive endgame item, and TBH I still like minecarts just thematically

With the “releasing Minecraft 2 and still adding updates to Minecraft 1”, why would they bother to update a now “outdated” game?

Another thing to add to the UT talk.

A spiritual successor should be somewhat similar yet different.

For example look at the Stanley Parable and the Beginner ‘s Guide. Both are meta story based games. However, the Stanley Parable is surreal and nonlinear while the Beginner’s Guide is realistic and linear.
