Sorry, I just don't see why this would be necessary.

Firstly, how would this be necessary in any way?

Secondly, it makes it too easy for people you follow to stalk you to and then harass you on your profile because you unfollowed them.

I don't think it can be necessary, also, with this, it's much easier to find that user who unfollowed you, and someone could write:

No support- unnecessary and would cause drama.

I don't really care if someone unfollows me or not. That's their decision that they don't want to be following me, so why should it matter? I'll also throw in the statement that ‘Scratch isn’t about gaining followers' that everyone uses

A side note that sort of relates… 24 people have followed and then unfollowed me

Ironically, people who are part of The Forum Helpers (an offshoot of the original Forum Police which I was a part of) are just going “this” and “^^^” even though that's not constructive. Oh well.

This sort of feature could create a lot of drama within the Scratch community. Those who are concerned about follower count may get angry at another user for unfollowing them. The Scratch Team believes that users should be able to follow or unfollow anyone they want without feeling guilty about it, especially as their interests change.

In the future, please read The Official List of Rejected Suggestions before suggesting.

Not really. Though they probably shouldn't have bumped a rejected suggestion from 2 years ago, they did contribute to the discussion in a way that no one did before.
