I've been wondering what the cat's name is.

it's a very interesting question and I know where you're coming from, and I have come to believe that the cat's name is your choice, I personally like to call it (or he/she) scratchcat, but this is only my personal choice, you can call it whatever you like, even “robert salt III”! i hope this helps!! also have a waffle! *hands you waffle*

The ‘cat’ is officially called Scratch.

Most people assume that it is either a cat called Scratch, or a cat representing Scratch called Scratchcat.
I have also heard it called Cat1, its sprite name if you find it on the list.

I think it's “scratch cat”, but i call him “scratch”.

Way back before the site was created, the cat was named “Scratch”, based off of the website. Its like naming a cat or a dog. You don't name a cat “OreoCat”, you just name it “Oreo”.

It's Scratch. That's the name. Plain ol' Scratch.
