why wont picoboard be supported in scratch 3.0

I Don't Know But The Scratch Wiki States This
Before buying a PicoBoard, note that it will not work with Scratch 3.0.
The PicoBoard can be ordered from SparkFun. The schematics and additional information are also available on that site.

The previous version was called the ScratchBoard. It has the same components and is compatible.

The Connecting to the Physical World forum is a place dedicated to discussions about the PicoBoard and other real-world Scratch sensors.

to view scratch 1.x versions : archive.glitch.pizza (I have no idea why it got the name pizza) and u can also view pre-releases of it, cool
