Acquisition: A Star Wars Adventure - - NOW HIRING

@HoresHWS: Since so many changes involving positions were made recently, we may want to have all of our employees re-apply. This would also be an excellent opportunity to weed out inactive members. What do you think about this?

Bump!

I used to have a banner linking to a collab, but then everyone in the collab became inactive. So now I need something new to put in my sig.

So sorry I didn't see this! It never showed up in my messages! Yes, I think that would be an excellent idea. Should we contact them on their profiles? If you think so, I can do that.

Thank you so much for all of your help! This would have never got this far without your support!

Actually, I think we should tell them here and in the studio, but not on their profiles. Here's why: if we contact them via their profile, they don't have to be active in the collab to see the message. This will result in some people who are actually inactive remaining in the collab. However, if we put the message in the forum and the studio, only those who regularly check in on the collab know to reapply. Also, while we're at it, I think we should make following the forum and/or the studio a requirement.

Okay, so I'll put the notification up in the studio and the OP. I'll also modify the Application Form to make following the forum necessary.

CSW,
Since absolutely no one has shown any interest in jointing since the re-org, I think we need a new, catchier, look to get people more interested. Ideas below. Tell me what you think.
  • Change the name. I always thought “Star Wars Platformer” sounded so-so. What do you think about "Acquisition: A Star Wars Adventure"?
  • Change title font (is that what BBcode is??). I'm thinking the font used in the opening titles for Star Wars.
  • Get a banner. Maybe have it look like the Roge One and Clone Wars titles looked.
  • Go totally crazy with the goal of the project. (Lag-free plat-former code, maybe scrolling, big levels, lots of equipment, shop)
Just some ideas.

I get what you're saying. I think Acquisition sounds pretty good. I don't know how to change fonts on Scratch without using an image. BBCode is the code used to do things like make words bold, underlined, or italizied in forum posts. And I'll see what I can do about a banner. I've already got a lag-free platformer script (I literally just finished updating it for a new platformer of mine). However, this engine isn't scrolling. I could convert it to a scrolling engine, but it would take time. Scrolling would also produce more lag. If you want to see a perfect example of an otherwise amazing scrolling platformer ruined by lag, just look at Will_Wam's "Animan 2". A shop is do-able, but we'd need some skilled coders onboard in order to do something like that (personally, I've never created a shop that doesn't glitch in some way). Sorry to crush some ideas here, I'm just basing my judgements off of personal experience.

Thanks! Yeah, I agree on the scrolling. I'd rather have it simpler and have less lag!

So do I have the go-ahead to implement any changes approved here?

So we'll do this:

You:
  • Change name to “Acquisition: A Star Wars Adventure”.
  • Change font (if you want).
  • Add a banner. (one that looks like the Rouge One title; here is a very rough draft)
Me:
  • I'll add your platformer script to the project.
Is that good?

Thanks!

Yup, sounds good. I'll go ahead and do those things. As for the platformer script, use the one found in this project (the new version).

Here is that banner you asked for! Tell me what you think of it, if it needs to be improved or anything. Leave your honest opinion, and don't worry about offending me by saying it isn't good.
