A person who represents more than one shop. To make votes more fair, you can't represent more than one shop. (As a representative.)

You can still be a member of many shops.

Recap of March 14, 2018

Plenty of things have happened since February 27, 2018, when I returned to the USS. Plenty. It's easy to confuse, so if you're confused, or just want to be updated, here's everything going on right now.

I: Removal of Head Department Members & Shops
-Anvard- and monkeytrooper were given one week extensions to respond to the activity check which ended last week. monkeytrooper has responded while -Anvard- remains inactive.

monkeytrooper will keep his position as VP. -Anvard-, if he does not respond by midnight tonight, will be removed as President and TimeLordPlanet will be promoted from VP to President. TimeLordPlanet will be able to appoint someone to fill the VP position that will become vacant.

TimeLordPlanet and his VP pick, unless elected into a new term, will be replaced on March 27, 2018, following a special election (which will be discussed later.)

BGMead is also provided an extension. This will expire tonight. When it expires, his position(s) and shop will be removed.

II: Moderator Assignments
Moderators were assigned new shops last week. In case you haven't seen the updated list, it can be found here.

If you are assigned to Gentle Rain Coding Studio or BGMead's Shop, and they are removed, you have one less shop to worry about. You may unfollow from those shops, and keep moderating your other assigned shops. You will be given more shops in the future, once shops join.

III: ISOOC Replacement Search
I disbanded ISOOC, the Inter-Shop Old Order Completions program. It was outdated and rarely used. If you're running for President, please consider using this as a reason to be elected (suggest a replacement in your speech.)

If you're not running for President, you can still help in the replacement search! Just post ideas here.

IV: USS Guidelines
A list of simple rules for the USS will be written soon, hopefully by March 18.

V: “Expect the Following” update
Update on section XII of this post.

New to-do list by the end of this month.
Moderator assignment by March 19.
Another archivist assignment by April 1.

VI: Archivist Assignment
Archivists, I made an assignment last week that asked for archivists to find all applications since September 1, 2017. It went unnoticed, so I'm updating it's due date from March 15 to March 21, 2018.

VII: USS BASE re-enactment
USS BASE, a statistics-collecting event, was skipped over on January 1, 2018. New dates have been set for July 1 and November 1, 2018.

Information collected would be not personal, but general, including; shop and organization specialties, representative counts, population counts, and general activity statuses.

VIII: Representative Changes
11 shops and one organization needs to appoint at least one more representative. To see if your shop is on the list, please click here.

These fixes should be made before the election.

VideoGamerCanInvent will no longer be a double-representative as he will be removed as representative for BGMead's Shop tomorrow.

IX: Temporary Head Department
Up until March 27, 2018, when the election is finished, TimeLordPlanet will be President. jromagnoli and hellounicorns2 are not in elected positions and therefore will keep their positions until they resign (or something else happens.)

X: Special Election of March 2018
Since an election was due January 1, 2018, and was not performed, an election was due. I decided to hold a President/VP election to democratically introduce a new President. This election's entire process starts now and will conclude on March 27, but the actual election will take place from March 19 to 26. Declaration of candidacy and debating will occur before the election, and a formal inauguration will occur afterwards.

Candidates, as Presidents, must announce their candidacy with a VP pick (or intent to choose one), a speech, and an indication on whether or not they will participate in this weekend's debate. No other positions will be elected. This is due by March 17.

A debate will occur over the weekend, spanning from March 17 to March 18.

The election will be held, with eligible voters being representatives and other USS positions, not including shop members. This will occur from March 19 to March 26.

The President and VP will officially hold their positions on March 27.

The next election will end on June 1, 2018.

The Basics
I am going to start a special thing called “The Basics”, which will be at the end of each update post of this kind. It'll essentially put deadlines and special dates here.

Ongoing: Replacements to the ISOOC is strongly encouraged. If you have an idea, please post it here.
March 15, 2018: -Anvard- and Gentle Rain Coding Studio will be removed. TimeLordPlanet will be officially promoted to President. BGMead and BGMead's Shop will be removed. To adjust to these shop removals, some moderators will have less shops to manage (temporarily.)
March 17, 2018: Declarations to run for USS President are due. Debate time begins.
March 18, 2018: USS Guidelines, version I, should be announced. Debate time ends.
March 19, 2018: Election voting begins. Moderators should receive an assignment by now.
March 21, 2018: Archivist assignment extension date.
March 26, 2018: Election voting ends.
March 27, 2018: New President inaugurated.
April 1, 2018: Archivists should receive another assignment by now.
June 1, 2018: Future election ends.
July 1, 2018: USS BASE occurs.
November 1, 2018: USS BASE occurs.

Special Notes:
78ch3, I did not properly respond to your question on if you could become President. Sorry, you cannot become President immediately, since TimeLordPlanet is being promoted (by order of succession.) You can run for President, though!

Update of March 15, 2018

Quick Updates

-Anvard- and Gentle Rain Coding Studio have been removed from the USS.
BGMead and BGMead's Shop have been removed from the USS.
TimeLordPlanet is promoted to President.
Shop moderator assignments adjusted.

New USS President
TimeLordPlanet is now officially USS President, replacing the inactive -Anvard- for a shortened term up until March 27, 2018, when the new election ends. Secretary jromagnoli refused to be promoted to VP and Chief Justice hellounicorns2 refused to be promoted to Secretary or higher. This results in the VP position being open for selection by TimeLordPlanet.

I congratulate TimeLordPlanet for the promotion, and thank -Anvard- for serving in the Presidential position for many months.

Representative adjustments
There are no longer any double-representatives. However, nine shops need to make adjustments to use all three representative seats. I plan on giving moderators an assignment to alert all shops to fill those spots.

They must be part of the USS, whether being current President or being a member of a shop that's in the USS.
