Teachers deleting student accounts
Hi Team
Teachers of little kids need the ability to delete student accounts.
The kids make accounts and then forget their user name leading to multiple accounts.
Very common problem for us.
Another help would be all the students in a class loading at once so a teacher can scroll down and see all at once..
This could easily be achieved by making the account picture thumbnail smaller.
Thanks

If no one can remember their username, how would you find the account to delete it?
In any case I don't think teachers should be able to completely delete student accounts. I support being able to remove them from the class, but they should still be able to log in and access their projects. I could imagine some teachers just deleting all their students at the end of the course, and some of them might want to keep their work.

The accounts all come up on the teacher dashboard. Many of my students just sign up every time instead of logging in. Drives me crazy. The accounts are unused with no projects because I make them go back and use their original account. I want to be able to delete the new, unused accounts from my dashboard.

I am the IT teacher at my school and find it very frustrating that I am not able to delete my students accounts when the move onto another school at the end of each year. I hope MIT do something about this soon.

I agree. We should be able to delete student's accounts. I hope they make it an option in the near future.

Hi TeamThe problem is, then hackers could get in and stop accounts.

Settle down, they were merely agreeing with this suggestion and stating why they support it, did they do it in a straight forward manor, eh debatable, but the thing that matters the most is that they agree with this topicThat behaviour is discouraged in the scratch forums.I am the IT teacher at my school and find it very frustrating that I am not able to delete my students accounts when the move onto another school at the end of each year. The problem is, then hackers could get in and stop accounts. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if you use a good password then you shouldn't have much of a problem… Plus then you could just add them back in, right? Anyways I think that this would help many out there (This is actually the account that I use for school as well as out of school, so idk how this works entirely…)

Support, teachers need complete control over their students including the ability to delete the accounts plus saving server space one the academic year is over.

It isn't necroposting if it is constructive and adds to the suggestion.stickfiregames wrote:

since nobody has mentioned this yet, it is possible for teachers to delete student accounts. it's just a little convoluted:
1. reset student password / set it to something you know
2. login to student account
3. go to deletion page (click on username > account settings > “I want to delete my account”)

perform account deletion of the student account.

Support if this is removing accounts from the class and not from the server because nobody-teacher wants OO students who already finished Scratch school like 10 years ago in their class
But no support if that acts like the “I want to delete my account” button, a student might have lots and lots of followers, and all the followers maybe get super angry at the teacher when they find out the teacher deleted the account, and even report and suggest deletion of the class and suggest the teacher be perma-IP-banned
