As for the suggestion,
Semi-support.
On one hand, it would get more people featured, but on the other hand, it will discourage others because they may think that the project of theirs they wanted to be featured so bad, can't, because Oops! you've already been featured twice in the existence of your account.
How about a limit in a period of time?
So obviously, to be featured, you can't have been front-paged in the last two months. Assuming that you get featured every two months, you can be featured six times a year. So how about instead of Limiting the amount of times people can be featured forever, they can be limited on how often they can be featured per year. I think a maximum of six times per year is enough, since that's really as high as you can go. Plus, the Scratch Team seems to be featuring another project every day (or sometimes every other day), so being featured for about a five days a week every two months is a grand total of 36 days featured, but that's just appearing in the default row of Featured projects (since you can scroll to see a project that was featured about two weeks ago). But, people can also get Top-loved/remixed and curated, so six times per year is a fair maximum, considering that if they do get front-paged in other ways a lot, they would get featured far less than that, probably just three times a year or less.
So I don't think it's fair to limit the amount of times people can be featured forever, but per year? Yes please.

The point of featured projects are not to make projects “popular” or “get views”; instead, it's meant to show off what you can actually do with the Scratch website. If there's an absolutely amazing project, it deserves to be in the spotlight for new users checking out the site, as that's the first thing they see. The current limits I'd assume are put in place to stop people from saying it's “completely unfair” that a project with tons of exposure already got featured.
Yes, being featured is a pretty neat experience and feels great, but that doesn't mean we should just not feature an amazing project just because the person's already had another one of their projects in the spotlight. Also, this happens so rarely, that I didn't even think it was possible until I had my second featured project. It's not even a big problem as it is.

No support.I wrote this long ago, so I disagree with some things that I said now.

Now, I think there should just be a limit of about once every 6 months because I've seen people be featured literally twice in two weeks or under.
Fair enough, if it's an “amazing project” but I think what triggered me to write this suggestion was that people were being featured twice in two weeks or something like that, and it generally annoyed me, as that Scratcher would be having tonnes of exposure and it's just another project taking up room for someone who has never been featured.

I've been on scratch for more than 6 months, and I haven't gotten featured once. Not saying that I'm mad, but people get featured over and over.

Well..I've seen a few people being featured twice..and even three times. I think it's very unfair on the people who haven't been featured even once. I bet there are hundreds of people who have a couple of followers and amazing projects. There is a curation section, I know, but sometimes the project doesn't get a lot of views even though it's been curated. Maybe there should be a limit of how many times a person could be featured? This may let other Scratchers have that opportunity.I SO AGREE! I haven't once been featured!
Thanks for reading, I hope you consider, Scratch Team.

See, the issue is, in order to get featured/front paged, you don't need to be very popular. You just have to speak up. If you don't want to have to speak up, chances are, you don't want to be noticed, and so the current system works fine.If you don't get a feature, you aren't noticed enough!I agree with that. This feature would allow good Scratchers to get noticed. I can't see any reason why denning amazing Scratchers the chance to feel a sense of pride and accomplishment by not supporting this, can you?

I think it comes down to whether featuring is for the project or for the user. If it's to showcase the project, than what we have is fine because there are already restrictions on what can be featured. If it's to put the spotlight on the user behind the project, than they should be limited because getting featured even once is a lot of attention.
Anyway, the problem kinda solves itself because if the user is popular enough and makes consistently good projects, they won't be able to be featured or need to be featured.

I think there should be a limit on how many times you can get featured per year. I think once a year would be good.
