How do you learn?
For a while now I've been using this method called spaced repetition. I read what I want to learn, then I make a bunch of flashcards in Anki. Anki spaces out how long till you see a flashcard based on how confident you were with it last time. I thought it was working really well (and with very little effort), but then I found an article which says:
What do you think? Is there a better way?
So I realized that although I do well with the flashcards and could probably understand what individual things mean, I couldn't sit down and write about a broader subject because I would struggle to think about what to write about
- Flashcards are less useful to learning the “big picture”
- Specifically, if you are memorizing a large amount of information, there is often a hierarchy, organization, etc that can make leaning the whole thing easier, and you lose the constant visual reminder of the larger context when using flashcards.
What do you think? Is there a better way?

How do you learn?
I end up just writing in a bunch of notes using the stuff I've learned, and look at them. Pretty much the most basic of all things, but writing stuff down yourself has been shown to be much more effective than just looking at it. If you're having a hard time remembering it, writing the same thing down multiple times will basically guarantee it'll be stuck in your head for a while.

I need to be more organized

How do you learn?
I started reading a book about learning and I think I've figured out how to solve my problem; I have to make practice question flashcards so I know when to use the information (bottom-up chunking), and mind-map flashcards to help me understand the context of different concepts (top-down chunking)

How do you learn?
My main issue is remembering how to phrase an answer. For example in chemistry, when asked what an isotope is, I learn how to say “Isotopes are atoms of the same element which have different mass numbers and therefore different numbers of neutrons”. I might have an idea of what isotopes are, but when it comes to exams, I might break down trying to remember how to say it.

I have a similar problem with math, I know the answer but I don't really know how I got it My main issue is remembering how to phrase an answer.
