Honestly? Season 2 Epsiode 1 is my new favorite episode. Commercialism jokes knock me dead and I loved how it was able to make fun of not only fans but itself.
Also, I like how they used the parents to represent the Japanese censors - “It's too vulgar!” and what made it super obvious was “no parodies!” Geez, jab much…
Oh, and I didn't even know this was that famous an issue amongst Osomatsu fans, but it's probably moreso in Japan…Akatsuka purists, who hate Osomatsu-san's vulgarity and derailment from the original. They were in the episode too. Whenever the sextuplets exclaimed “KOREDEIINODA!” the purists would come to beat them to a pulp. As if they're saying “HOW DARE YOU SAY WHAT HE (Akatsuka) SAID?!” kind of taking his words in vain.
(Koredeiinoda (it'll be alright) is the catchphrase of Tensai Bakabon's Bakabon no Papa and is heavily associated with Akatsuka himself/in general. So of course these rebooted sextuplets shouting that would tick off the purists, heh.)

I do remember them, but I think I missed the Koredeiinoda joke.

I really liked the first episode of Season 2, although I was a little shocked that Jyushimatsu ate someone and no one said anything. But I guess I'll have to get used to things like that? I don't know.
Other than that, the episode was amazing. I'm really excited for the rest of season 2.

Everybody in the Akatsuka chat I'm in was more than a little disturbed by that scene.

Monday's episode was screened for an event yesterday in Japan, and it's about Iyami and the sextuplets going to a party with Dekapan and his inventions are involved. Also, apparently all the visuals from the season two trailer are present in the episode..

Thoughts on episode two, everyone? I liked it, I think this season is heading in a comfortable direction so far.

I remembered that scene where Iyami was daydreaming of his flirting skills from the trailer!

I thought it was an okay episode! Could be better though, probably gonna be one of the weaker episodes this season. But I like how they made fun fans' characterization of the sextuplets.

Forgot to watch this show for a while, so I caught up on episodes 3-5. Quite enjoyed it; I think the laughs are starting to ramp up a little but I'm also quite surprised at how many tender moments there are.
I did want to do a skit-by-skit review of the summer episode, so here it goes best of my memory:
Cicadas: Reasonably funny opener. Not the best, but gets you into it comfortably.
Jyushimatsu Calisthenics: Delightfully silly. I don't think a bad Jyushimatsu skit could possibly exist.
Joozu: Both punchlines had me in chortles. Seeing Jyushiko and Delinquent Todomatsu together in a main universe skit was bizarre.
It's Hot: Kinda dark, which is one of my soft spots for the Oso-san skits.
Exiled: I mean, it's alright. Some build-up behind the joke would have been nice.
Exiled (2): …just the same as the last one.
Exiled (3): This isn't a bad series of skits, but three in a row with the same punchline is a bit much for what it is.
Fireworks: Pretty good. Funniest part for me was Shōnosuke being the only one who stayed and watched.
Summer Kamen: Very good. Opening montage with “Summer Kamen” popping up in various summer contexts got me.
Totoko in the Summer: Not quite as macabre as It's Hot, but still twisted in its own funny way. Could have been improved by including something that provoked Totoko to act like this.
This Year, We'll Finally…: Good skit to end on. Usual ‘Matsu fare with a good semi-meta joke at the end.
I also liked the ’88 Kun callback in the credits. Though I can't say I was a fan, I always thought it was a nice sequence.

Iyami Ondo was awesome, I agree! Not only for the callbacks but I love when Iyami sings!
I post my in depth analyses of the episodes on the show's tvtropes thread so check there if you're curious

Anyone notice that art style on episode 5 was somewhat different than the rest? It looked simpler and rounder.

Same with episode 8, which also had some more Girlymatsu cameos.

Episode 10 had some big heads, it's been pointed out. And I'm not just meaning the shonosuke one.

I haven't watched that one yet (I prefer to wait a couple of weeks and binge two episodes straight), but now I've gotta see it.

BUMP. I was too busy to catch up on this show for a while, so I'm only up to episode 11 so far.
Anyone notice the Girlymatsus are making a lot of cameos?

BUMP again.
Gotta say, of all the moments from the first cour that made me laugh, the animation of Totty's mouth when he strategically chooses to shut up is my favourite:

There's just something about the precision of it slowly fading back into a concealed smile that gets me. (GIF credit to osomatsunos from Tumblr.)

What's everyone's thoughts on the second cour? I was very nervous that it would nosedive when it started with Sanematsu again (because the first one signaled that decline for me), but I actually really liked the ending for that one. In fact, it's felt like a very smooth and consistent transition. I quite like the UMA skits.

Unpopular opinion but I really like Sanematsu. Very clever nod to a popular fan theory of Osomatsu-kun. And I love the UMA skits because all three best boys are present.

Makes sense if that's what it's referencing, but even if it got lost on me or not, I personally found that the first one fell flat. I'm not 100% sure yet on why I didn't find it funny. I also really like UMA for its line-up too; isolating Jyushi and putting him with Hatabou with Iyami leading them is a recipe for one of the best combos of the show (and the opening sequence is so adorable).

Thoughts on episode 18? I liked it a lot, even if it didn't really open up any new territory for the show. I watch Oso-san for the belters, but I think they can pull off genuine sentimentality pretty well so I've got no qualms about them making episodes like that. (Also the first time they've shortened the intro! Never thought in my lifetime that would happen. I'm assuming they did that to make room for the story.)

I know I'm, like, a month late, but what about that final episode? 100x better than worn-out baseball gags for half an hour IMO*. I'm incredibly happy the show's remained consistent this season.
*Look, I get the anti-climax is the big joke and in retrospect, it's a fantastic set-up/troll that really played off of much of the self-importance that fans would have guessed from the last scene of that penultimate episode and I appreciate it…but wouldn't it have been better if the episode was actually funny?
