Add a Collaboration button in the editor
I think there should be a collab button in the editor.

What you're suggesting is rejected, please read this before making a suggestion. And besides, we kind of already have one. Two, actually. The Comment Button and The Remix button.

No, like I mean a button that simply says “Invite”. You should also add a button on a user's profile say “Add to friends list”. When you click “Invite”, your Friends List pops up. Then you can select the person you want to invite from your Friends List.
NOTE: The Friends List button should only be used for someone you know IRL.

Would changes made by one user immediately show for other collaborators who have the project opened? If so, collaborators could use string inputs or comments to bully each other or ask for their personal information, and then easily delete all evidence of the conversation happening before the ST can find out.
If not, what happens if multiple collaborators try to edit at the same time?

No, like I mean a button that simply says “Invite”. You should also add a button on a user's profile say “Add to friends list”. When you click “Invite”, your Friends List pops up. Then you can select the person you want to invite from your Friends List. This is still somewhat confusing though, and it seems like you're suggesting multiple features - a friends list, and a collaboration feature. But how would each one work, beyond what you've already described here? How would users collaborate, etc?
NOTE: The Friends List button should only be used for someone you know IRL.

Well, the Friends List is a list of people on Scratch you know IRL (e.g, @Dhilly and @DominusScratch). So, Dhilly would add DominusScratch to his friends list. And DadOfMrLog would do the same to MrLog. OK? Then, DadOfMrLog would Invite MrLog to work on a project with him. Kapeesh? And, yes, Sheep_maker, changes made by one user would immediately show for other collaborators who have the project opened. Users would collaborate in any way they want!

Why is this rejected?See here. Explanation #23.
(by the way, it's about your suggestion about collaborating with somebody, not inviting them to collab. The Simple workaround is Commenting and Remixing.)

Why is this rejected?People could secretly talk to each other by typing in string inputs/comments, and the ST won't able to moderate it.

This is rejected because it could be used as a way to private message people, bully, and gossip.
Example one:
Person 1 and person 2 are doing a collab
Person 1 sets down a comment and types “Lol haha persin 2 you suk at coding u should quit”
Person 2 gets upset, and quits scratch.
Example 2:
Person 1 and person 2 are doing a collab.
Person 2 sets down a comment and types “did u know that griffpatch got banned because he threatened someone”
Person 1 sets down another comment and types “he did, wow. he's such a bad person.”
Note: griffpatch didnt do that
Even if doing things like adding comments was restricted what about broadcast and variables?
Example 3:
Example one:
Person 1 and person 2 are doing a collab
Person 1 sets down a comment and types “Lol haha persin 2 you suk at coding u should quit”
Person 2 gets upset, and quits scratch.

Example 3:
broadcast [haha person 2 cant code v]
(Griffpatch did a thing apparently)
