Thread IV: New Hope
This thread was created for the purpose of creating a full and complete plan of the collaborative work known as Pokémon Chaotic Flame and Orderly Frost, or more commonly known as Pokémon CFOF or PKMN CFOF. The collection of people working to create PKMN CFOF is known as the CFOF team. The highest of CFOF’s managers is a group known as DragonSmith2 Studios, or DS2S. This group consists of 5 members: Turtwig2 (aka PipMcGee), Mattsmithdw2, DragonAsh, stryer21, and Connectation.

Applications
There are a variety of jobs in CFOF. Some jobs are more needed than others, but if your skillset matches a particular job, apply anyway. A description of the jobs and their requirements will be listed below.

Managers: Current head: Turtwig2
Manager:
Manages the production of the game. This role cannot be applied for, it must be earned. Must demonstrate leadership abilities.
Overseer:
Requires DS2S membership. To get into DS2S, please go to the appropriate thread.
Director:
The Director at this moment works under the pseudonym, “Pip McGee,” but their Scratch Username is Turtwig2. If Director McGee is gone for a period of sic months or more, an Overseer should temporarily take their place.
Story Makers: Current head: Turtwig2
Story Writer:
Must demonstrate and have a knowledge and skill in what makes a story entertaining. A story writer is a person who gives ideas for the story overall of PKMN CFOF.
Scripter:
Must demonstrate and have excellent language abilities: no grammar mistakes, impressive vocabulary, etc. Scripters are those who will create the lines that will be put into the game.
Character Creators:
In charge of creating designs for new characters, creating details in the old ones, and giving trainers data. Must demonstrate the ability to create a believable character concept.
Pokémon Data Creators:
These are those in charge of assigning moves, stats, abilities, and other data to new Pokémon. Must simply demonstrate knowledge of Pokémon data, such as the data they will be assigning.
Idea Makers: Current Head: DragonAsh
Thinker:
For people who do not want to be dedicated, but still want to participate. May simply give ideas.
Researcher:
The responsibility of the researcher is to find information to be used. This may be old data on an old thread. Must have the patience and time to look through pages after pages of information.
Coders: Current Head: Mattsmithdw2
Programmers:
Must demonstrate experience and skill with programming, specifically using Scratch. They will be in charge of performing most of the various programming needs of the game.
Battle Programmers
Responsible for creating the points of the game where you are within a Pokémon battle. Must demonstrate the ability to create a Pokémon battle simulator.
Artists:
Visual Artists: Current Head: Mattsmithdw2
Concept Artists:
Must demonstrate decent art skills. Will be responsible for creating art for character and pokémon designs within the game.
Spriter:
Must demonstrate skills with pixel art. Responsible for making sprites for the game.
Cartographer:
Responsible for making maps, both pixel in-game maps, and general maps. Must demonstrate skill with pixel art and skill with making maps.
Audio Artists: Current Head: Connectation
Musicians:
People who will make the soundtrack for the game. Must demonstrate the ability to create songs.
Voice Actors:
People who will provide Pokémon voices. Must simply be able to provide appropriate voice clips.
Audio Providers:
People who will provide non-vocal audio. May also be asked to provide other sound-based work.
Advertisers: No current head.
Promotional Artists:
Must demonstrate decent art skills. Will create promotional art for PKMN CFOF.
Common Advertisers:
Will put a link to the PKMN CFOF thread in their signature, and search for new members. No skills required.

STORY:
A map, because that’s somewhat necessary to know what’s going on.

The game begins with a few disclaimers, then an opening from professor Acacia, with the basic information the player (who will be referred to as Steve Jones from now on) needs to give. Then Steve ends up in his room. He goes out to Nuzure Town, where the player meets Katie Oculus, the rival who will choose the stronger starter Pokémon, and Noah Esell, who will choose the weaker one. Steve goes through Foosa Town into the first gym in Luva City. After defeating the Gym Leader, he goes south to Thuma Cave. There he meets Team Octo for the first time. It’s leader, whose identity is not yet known, who is called Bluecloak, and two admins, at the time known as Septa and Penta, who are also wearing blue cloaks. Bluecloak asks Steve to join them, who either accepts (which results in a “Game Over”) or refuses. Upon hearing the refusal, Bluecloak orders five of his grunts to attack. This results in a horde battle, which the grunts assume will be easy, and are defeated. Steve continues to Juno Town, where he sees a man in a green tuxedo chase a team Octo Grunt. He defeats the next gym leader. He travels over sea to Oceanbreeze Island, where he gains the HM for Surf and a third Gym Badge. Steve continues to Supaki Town, where he sees the man in the green tuxedo once again, and learns that he is Pip McGee, Champion of the Royal League (which is this game’s version of the Pokémon League.) He reveals backstory behind a deep hatred for Team Octo. He gets a Gym Badge, and travel around a lake, where there is a blocked path to the Stone Maze, a landmark that Lados is known for. In Lunos Town, Steve meets the Elite Four members Draco and Connect, then win their fifth gym badge. In Nuvea Town, Steve gains a gym Badge, and encounters Bluecloak. He discovers the identity of Penta and Septa, and learns that Penta is in fact Katie. He continues, gaining a Gym Badge in Firland Town. In Stardust Town, Steve and Pip end up battling Bluecloak and Katie after learning that Bluecloak is in fact the Elite Four member Matt. Steve learns the true intentions of Team Octo, the destruction of the universe, as Matt has, through interdimensional travel technologies, learned that his destiny is to destroy the universe. After winning this battle, Matt retreats to the Stone Maze. Steve follows them there, and learns that Matt has captured the legendary Pokémon mascot for the game that the player is not playing. The player battles the mascot of the game, and may capture it, then has the chance for a battle with Matt. Upon winning, Matt is confused, thinking that this wasn’t how the battle was supposed to go. Realizing his chance to fulfill his destiny has passed, he decides to quit. He leaves to go to the Royal League Palace, where the Elite Four will be faced. Steve must continue to Turnwood Town, where he meets Pip and Connect, who offer Steve a ride to Stardust Town. There he goes to Victory Road. He completes the journey and is met by Noah. They have a Pokémon Battle. Steve challenges the Elite Four, who consists of Connect, Chris, Draco, and Matt. After this, Steve faces Pip, wins, and enters the Hall of Fame, and becomes Champion of the Lados Royal League.
After the credits roll, the postgame begins. During this postgame, Steve may do various things, such as receive a generation IV starter from Pip in Turnwood Town, and visit Exia Island.

This story should be updated monthly, so that it will reflect the story that is currently decided on.
Now that all of the necessary information for Post 0 has been covered, I ask that you do not post until I, as either DS2S or as Turtwig2 say to do so.

Well, I don't got much for Researcher, but school is still a pain when it comes to projects. I have plenty of ideas when it comes to Thinker, I've written some stuff before and have a basic Plotline for other things. As for Pokemon Data Creator, I haven't really done much in the collab even though I'm a manager, so I might aswell take one of the boring but quite needed jobs. As far as I can see, it simply entails putting together information and coming up with new information to create a final product. I have a lot of time on my hands, and there's a chance I'm getting my laptop back next week. Woo. As for Scripter, I've fumbled around with characters of varying personalities awhile now for RPs, Stories, and the like. I've been told I have an impressive vocabulary for my age aswell.

And with that, a new era will begin! I guess. Probably.

Anyway, we need to make decisions regarding the Pokémon League. Full names, ages, physical descriptions, personalities, histories, what Pokémon they use, what those Pokémons' levels, moves, nicknames, abilities, distinctions, etc. are, strategies, even clothing, all of it. We should probably even get music, concept art, and sprites for them, but that isn't necessary yet.
