New fix for the "go to url" blocks
Basically, the following post makes it impossible for the project to spam you to a site, or go to malware.
The drop-down gives the option for projects, studios, wiki pages, and discussion threads as well. You would then put in the ID. These would act as a “Stop all” block. There would also be a new tab variant:
Go to [user v] [Example_user] :: eventswould go to scratch.mit.edu/users/Example_user (congrats person who is part of this)

Go to [user v] [Example_user] in a new tab :: eventsThis works the same way as above. It would also prompt a message to confirm the redirect/opening new tab. That would look something like this:
The project wants to bring you to scratch.mit.edu/users/Example_user. Press “OK” to stop the project and be redirected to that page. The new tab block would have the message say “Press ”OK“ to stop this project and go to the page in a new tab.” instead. It would also have a button to not stop the project.

New fix for the "go to url" blocks
This project-pausing feature could also be used as a pause button for animations:
when this sprite clicked
go to [user v] [click "cancel" to resume] in a new tab::events // shouldn't be a cap block because the user might click "cancel"

But there should be more then just ‘user’, of course, there should be project, user, forum maybe, or even wiki.Go to [user v] [Example_user] :: eventswould go to scratch.mit.edu/users/Example_user (congrats person who is part of this)

I really don't support the “go to url” block due to the fact that I don't find it very useful.

I'm just using user as the example so I don't need to have a random string of numbers. EDIT: I'm going to add wiki to the op.

I really don't support the “go to url” block due to the fact that I don't find it very useful.Well, thanks for the feedback. As a note, it may not seem useful because you don't use it yet. I played around on ScratchX with a “Go-to URL” block extension, and it was really fun. That is why I made this forum.

You are correct. But I still don't really support this, but I won't really care if this gets added.

Support as long as it only takes you to stuff on Scratch, or if it's a like YouTube link it takes you to the page (on the forums) where you can't see the comments. This would make it more secure.

This would make it more secure. That's the point, this version only allows scratch pages. This way, you can't go to “rickroll.com” which installs a virus. This is one of the points in the op.

Maybe something like this? The prompt always appears. If not, you could spamwhen this sprite clicked
go to [discussion v] [286060] with prompt [Go / Cancel v]::events
when this sprite clicked
forever
go to [discussion v] [286060] with prompt [Go v]::events
end
Support, but i would prefer if it was a Scratcher only block, just in case.As said above, a bit of clarification, please. Is it not able to be used by New Scratchers, or can it only go to a Scratchers profile?
A “Go to URL” block would be pretty cool, and I can see a way it would be useful.
If a game/animation/whatever is seperated into 2 parts, you could use the URL block in the first part to send someone to the second part.
Support!
That's a good point, or you could use it like the Youtube end cards. One animator has the link in the N/C, but this is a bit unconventional.
