How to I make a link turn blue?

when green flag clicked
point in direction (of this post)
switch costume to [wave hello]
wait (1) secs
ask [the question below] and wait

I'm pretty sure that if I looked around, I'd find an answer to this, but I don't have that kind of time…

When I copy-and-paste a link, it stays the normal text color AND isn't clickable. How do I make it blue and clickable?
Same for when I write someone's name. If I put an @ symbol in front of it, it still doesn't turn into a link. Help, please?

EDIT 12-11-2017: This topic is closed, but the explanations are still valid!

You paste the link. Don't worry, it'll look blue for others. As for the @ thing, that's comments only.
For forums, just click the chain and do what it says. + Edit your blocks out. That's blockspam (which is a reportable offense on the forums! Remember that).

You might want to make a link parser of sorts that matches string to detect if it's a link and make an <a href=“that link”> tag to make it clickable.

Oh, okay. Well thanks!

And also, they will only turn blue if they link to somewhere on scratch. Example, in a comment, it would link to scratch.mit.edu/projects/1234 but not wikipedia.org/random

Yeah, that's what I figured. (Welcome to Scratch, by the way!)

You didn't add the https:// on the link, which is why wikipedia doesn't work on the forums. https://wikipedia.org/random works.

Oh, that probably helps!

Thanks!

But sometimes, even with https:// in comments, because I want to show my fans an article on Pottermore, the Pottermore site is secure AND has a https:// heading. What do I do?

Well done on nercoposting!
The definition of nercoposting is when you post on a 2 year old topic for no reason at all! (as in unconstructive replies)
Close off the topic pals…

last time I checked
you can't link external sites
unless you're in the forums

I don't know. If the entire link address is there, they can still copy-and-paste the link into their browser bar or search engine.

Guess what, I forgot I even had this topic. I'll try to close it now.

That appears to be the case.
