Stop Promoting Cartoon Network (in the way it is currently promoted, atleast)

As I have said in an earlier post:
They need to stop promoting Cartoon Network too (as in actual Cartoon Network, not the now-defunct secondary Cartoon Network channel “Cartoon Network Too” ). I thought they stopped working with Scratch. It's a great channel (the UK version, not the US version which is what is being promoted), but they just keep advertising Powerpuff Girls, a show I do not want to watch. They said they wouldn't advertise on this site, but they did. I wonder if this is why they banned advertising extensions, so no-one can make an extension that blocks the Powerpuff Girls thing (the advertisement showed up a day after the ban)

Cartoon Network (UK version at least) is a good channel, however they are promoting it in a way they shouldn't. They try to mix it in with normal Scratch by using a giant advertisement banner, which includes Scratch stuff, but then the PowerPuff Girls for some reason in one small box?

Instead, I think they should do this:

1. Promote all Cartoon Network shows

They only talk about the PowerPuff Girls. They should talk about the many other shows too, like Gumball.

2. Advertise it better

The banner is annoying. Why not a design studio?
___________
Anyway, this is what I think, after all, Cartoon Network may require Scratch to do this, if so, that's fine.

I don't get why people are against Scratch becoming more noticed. I think it's awesome that Scratch is partnering up with CN, Google, etc.

This means Scratch has to listen to them, which means annoying adverts and other things probably in some sort of terms and conditions. I feel like Scratch might be getting money from this .

I think they just include the stuff they find interesting. It's like what you or I can do with a project or our own Scratch page. Like if someone else talks about PowerPuff Girls but you're more interested in Gumball, then the solution is to make a project or studio about Gumball. Then your interest is shown and expressed. True, none of us get as much exposure as Scratch's front page. But the solution to that, if you want such responsibility, is to create your own programming language and website. Then you can feature your interests on your programming language's website's front page.

But then they're using copyrighted characters. Only user-generated content is under fair use, not Scratch Team content. Scratch has a right to use these characters, as they are partnered with Cartoon Network, though, so it isn't copyright, but it's more likely CN are telling Scratch to use these if they still want to be supported by CN.

Also, I'm pretty sure many more people are interested in Gumball than PowerPuff Girls (no offence), so Scratch could use Gumball, but again, CN are probably telling them to use Powerpuff Girls.

I don't need to make a studio about anything, this is just a suggestion, and there are loads of projects/studios about Gumball anyway

About making a Scratch-like site, I've had that idea for a while, but I doubt it will happen anytime soon

Scratch might as well just be promoting Teen Titans Go because it's literally the only show that's ever on in the US. xD
I mean, they aren't JUST promoting PowerPuff Girls. When I joined Scratch, there was a We Bare Bears studio, so there's that.
I don't think we really need to really worry about how the ST decides to advertise; it doesn't seem to be a problem.

Yeah We Bare Bears is good, but they just seem to be promoting PowerPuff Girls.

It does though on some people, that's why I use a ad-blocking program (can't mention what it is because of new rules on Scratch)

No your suggestion is identical to @TheAspiringHacker's.

And @asivi, if you believe that dude341 is TheAspiringHacker, then I can assure you that he is not lol.

I'm not promoting anything.
Scratch is a great site, but in my opinion, it is doing some stuff I don't agree with. But it's Scratch's decision, I'm just making a suggestion.

Being non-profit does not mean it can't make money. All it means is that profit is not regularly distributed to shareholders - instead, it is simply saved as surplus.
