Great idea - It's a pain having to import fonts into scratch.

You can use different fonts. Just edit the Scratch.swf file from the offline editor and import your own fonts.

Here's your three fonts: If we're going to add three more fonts they better not be comic sans.
Comic Sans.
Comic Sans Bold.
COMIC SANS MS.
Enjoy!

Or you know since they're collabing with Google for Scratch 3.0, they can just integrate support for Google Fonts (fonts.google.com)

Me neither xD Call me crazy, but I wouldn't mind comic sans.
I really like Comic Sans and Papyrus.
_______
Support for a bit of more fonts, because as @Paddle2See said, a font selector from computer can look different for each computer.

I semi-support, it might just be easier to type the font in a program like Google Docs and then upload it to scratch in an SVG format. That's how I get fancy fonts.

I don't know how to get vector fonts, but vector is what I want. Can you help me? We used to have that in 1.4 - but it did cause a lot of problems. Projects that looked great on one computer would look not-so-great on another computer that didn't have the same set of fonts. Trying to capture the entire font definition in the project would take care of that issue but make the projects much larger. So we decided to go with a few standard fonts - but you can still bring in costume text by either importing the letters as images or vector objects. More work for you - but it guarantees that it will work on all computers.
Edit: how do you delete a post

There can be an extension for custom fonts in scratch 3.
I like suggestion but as paddle2see said it will make projects large (ttf file is in binary format).
