[Skeleton Shaman]: A local priest must rescue his homeland from a ruthless military commander.

Information: I'm coming up with an idea for a new game, as I haven't made a new game for quite some time. Also, I've been reading too many greek myths .

Skeleton Shaman Pixel-art: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/191903627/#fullscreen
Check out the Collaboration Topic: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/285510/

Characters:

  • (Protagonist) Skeleton Shaman: a conservative elder currently working as the village healer. Nevertheless, he will sometimes defy tradition when the need is most dire. He is cautious, witty, and unsympathetic, even though he does care quite a bit for his people. His wound is that he lost his family when the village was sacked in his youth. Since then, he has vowed to protect it with his life. Also, he has a deep hatred of outsiders stemming from the barbarians that pillaged his town.
  • (Supporting Protagonist) Vaj: an untrusting, paranoid, bounty hunter who has a grudge against the Nekhun empire. He rejects all help, for both his honor and his safety, as he is a bit paranoid. This is because a personal friend betrayed him, the new deputy, and his tribe in service to the Nekhun emperor. He managed to escape in the Nekhun invasion, and made it his mission and passion to do whatever he can to hinder the Nekhun empire. He also used to have much hubris, though his failure removed it all, and now he has little self-respect. Also, he completely lacks a sense of humor.
  • (Antagonist) Agent Kuaqua: a charming, smooth, subtle and controlled former con man who excels in acquiring rare artifacts. He has a flair for the dramatic, and often disguises himself as a random bystander, sometimes even engaging in conversations with the hero. Near the end of the story, it is discovered that he had masqueraded as a crew member on the last leg of Skeleton's trip back home. His ruling passion is to be the best and most convincing actor ever. His dark mission is to steal the coin, use it to dethrone the Nekhun ‘Onkerator’ and again use the coin to control the every action, every thought of the people in the known world.

Basic Plot: The Nekhun Empire invades Skeleton Shaman's homeland and surrounding territories. His tribe is then taken over and its people enslaved. Skeleton Shaman is the only one who escaped. To rescue his people, Skeleton has to journey to aquire a magical coin, bring it back, and use it to defeat the Nekhun army.

In-Depth Plot:

  • Act I: Skeleton Shaman travels through the forest to gain ingredients for a healing potion to save a sick little kid.
  • Act II: The Nekhun Empire invades Skeleton Shaman's village. He then escapes the village, trying to take along with him a number of his people. Subsequently, the gods Liiak and Haloy offer their support to help destroy the Nekhun Empire.
  • Act III. Skeleton Shaman travels to the port of Nushu and attempts to enlist a ship and a crew so that he can quest to find the mystical coin. Just as Skeleton begins to board his ship, Kuaqua appears out of a crowd and attempts to stab him, but Skeleton beats him back with his staff. He then sails to Flook-na, where a tyrant forces him to hunt down and destroy a fleet of privateers. Near the end of this mission, a crew-man disappears, taken and then replaced by Kuaqua himself. Consecutively, he finishes his journey and retrieves the coin, only for his crew to mutiny, led by Kuaqua in disguise. He then defeats Kuaqua and wins the crew's faith back. After crossing the Cakhan ocean and returning to the port of Nushu, Skeleton disbands his crew and treks back to his village, where a final showdown with Kuaqua awaits.
  • Act IV. Laying in wait at Skeleton's village, Kuaqua traps him, confiscating his coin, and scheduling a public execution for him. Fortunately for our hero, Vaj rescues him, and attacks Kuaqua distracting him long enough for Skeleton to lead his people to freedom outside the (new) walls of the village. Finally, having freed a number of other villages and their peoples, Skeleton Shaman leads them against the Nekhun army, himself engaging the Nekhun commander. The mystical coin then grants him and his makeshift army enough luck to defeat the Nekhuns, and they capture the Nekhun commander.
  • Act V.The Nekhun commander is then ransomed, and the profit is divided among the affected villages and cities for repair purposes. Skeleton Shaman then returns to his home and is made deputy, nevertheless retaining his post as village healer.

Levels:

  • Gather the Healing Herbs (Act I): Skeleton Shaman traverses the forest near his village to find healing herbs, evading carnivorous plants and frightened (and thus trying to run him down) animals.
  • Escape the Village (Act II): Skeleton Shaman stages a break-out of the village, taking along with him many of his people, but ultimately, losing them. (boss fight: The Deputy)
  • The Port City of Nushu (Act III): Skeleton Shaman searches for a crew and a ship in this rickety and leveled venice-esque wooden city.
  • Welcome to Buccaneer Bay (Act III): Skeleton Shaman storms a privateer hide-out in “Buccaneer” bay.
  • The Mutiny (Act III): Skeleton Shaman fights agent Kuaqua, currently masquerading as first mate; near the end of the skirmish, the truth that Kuaqua replaced the actual first mate is revealed, and the crew turn against him. (boss fight: Kuaqua and the Crew)
  • Free the Village! (Act IV): Skeleton frees his people, and lead them to safety, all with Kuaqua and Vaj fighting in the background (and sometimes the foreground).
  • The Final Battle (Act IV): Skeleton fights the final boss, the Nekhun commander. (boss fight: The General)

Notes:

  • The world of Kakau is culturally between the Neolithic and Greek antiquity.
  • The Nekhun empire is invading areas around the Neku Gulf, and in these areas, they are enslaving the locals.
  • Observing these measures from above, the gods have split into two sides, one supporting the Nekhuns, the other favoring the states of Neko-Sha.
  • The latter side includes the gods Liiak, the god of travel and wind, and Haloy, the god of courage and determination, who convince Skeleton Shaman to
go on the aforementioned quest, with their support.
  • This he must do, for they show that his people have been made into slaves.
  • Also, they note that even with their best efforts, the other states and their sympathetic gods have crumbled before the might of the Nekhun, and will likely continue to do so.

Yes, here would be my character:

NAME: Vaine:
BIOGRAPHY AND LOOKS Vaine is a smart, yet stronger outcast to his hometown in skeleton shamans town. He is skilled with fighting and is very rebellious towards the nekhun peoples. He is cunning and has a secret weapon arsenal. Vaine is not very willing to be on teams, but fights well, even with a prosthetic arm. He knows exactly who Agent Kuaqua is, and is willing to take action during fights. He typically wears high-tech armor that on transform into weapons on the limbs. He has light coloured skin and light blue eyes, and his prosthetic arm (lost in battle with assassins)

His armour basically is high tech and his arms turn into guns, and swords, the legs have powerful jest that make him fly. The armor is blue and white and glows. The substance it is made of is called zyclodium, an almost unbreakable substance.

Ok, your character is nice, but it could use a bit of revision. Also, sorry that I didn't mention this, but the world is partially based off of Greek antiquity, and is set between the time of Neolithic farming villages and the time of city-states. Thus I cannot allow your character technology, but perhaps I can give him divine abilities

Ok, that would be fine, It isn't the first time I have used the character anyways
.
Also, you may copy and paste the paragraph and revise him, but under my approval, and divine abilities sounds good.
I was also going to say he is a time traveler, but I didn't think you would allow that.

Also, I think I may rename Vaine Vaj, and make him a bit of an opportunistic loner, rejecting Skeleton's help in taking down Kuaqua. Furthermore, he is a tad jealous of Skeleton for having the attention of Kuaqua and wishes to destroy them both.

Could a moderator please move this topic to the collaboration forum? I believe I'm done with the major brainstorming for this game.
