Notifying Users When Somone Quoted Their Forum Post
As much as I'd love this, it's impossible as DjangoBB is a flat forum software, as opposed to a threaded software such as ProBoards.
If the ST can somehow make this happen, then I'm all for it.

I support it,it is irritating having to constantly check and consult your memory and then cursing it because you can't remember the name of the thread xD. I think it would be nice if there is a notification when someone quote our post, so we don't need to check our post everyday. Like this:
Edit: this was suggested by shaymin88 down there. There have been people quoting your post on a forumOr this:You have been quoted in a forum.(Suggested by ChocolatePi, thanks ChocolatePi!)

Maybe if whoever develops Scratch made it so you will only get one notification per forum post that has a quote from your post in it, that kind of spamming won't happen. Other than…… I don't see any problems with that!

Yes, if its optional I say yes, because if someone was saying a comment or something about you or needed help you wouldn't know!

… Um why can't they just follow the discussion?
Besides, reply scamming would open up a whole new can of worms.

Because if they follow the discussion, they wouldn't know whether the new post was: “Hi! @unrelated_user,” or something actually helpful. Also, I explained why reply spamming wouldn't happen in earlier posts.

Maybe it could be like comments, where you get a little bit of the reply after the quote. Like this. Yes, if its optional I say yes, because if someone was saying a comment or something about you or needed help you wouldn't know!
arman516 quoted you on the forum: Notifying Users When Someone Quot…: Yes, if it is op… 9:43

If you can choose whether or not you get notified when people quote your posts then support.

Wow, I was really dumb back then. Duh, error catching. In that case, you'll get delivery errors if the message can't be sent. And as others have said, people can spam the quote button.Sorry, no support since this would make using the forums considerably slower. For example, if I did this:Why the need to crosscheck anything? If you have the name then you send the message to that name, existent or not. No different from typing NonexistantUser in the search bar and getting their pageRandom text here. Then the program to notify Scratchers that they were quoted would be confused. It would first have to check if NonexistentUser is an actual user by cross checking it with the names of about 4 million users and then send a message to the user that the quote matches. Doing this every single time someone quoted someone would be quite stressful to the server. :/

It should be when the “Quote” button on your own post is clicked, and the post is posted to notify.

No support due to the reason TheHockeyist stated. What if someone postedetc.?
When they create their account, will they get hundreds of notifications?
Also what if you did the same thing, but with an extstent user? They wouldn't like having about 50 notifications and they're all “Someone quoted your forum post”

No support. Someone could spam this. Example:
And then the other user's notifications will be full of the same stuff.
