Automatic Message Deletion
Rude messages should be automatically deleted. Some messages take a long time to be reviewed after reporting, because the comments take a long time to be reviewed some scratchers don't even try the projects and leave the page.

Good Idea, However, What If The Comment Wasn't Really Rude? Then, Their Comment Would Be Deleted For No Reason. Like This:

So, are you saying that messages should automatically be deleted if they are reported? If so, no support.
As stated above, people could unfairly report people without a reason, and their message would be deleted anyway. Like this:
The reason why each report is manually reviewed by the Scratch Team is because they have to put it into context, and see if it really was mean in the first place.

No, I mean that if the message is rude then the message should be automatically deleted, and not after being reported. So, are you saying that messages should automatically be deleted if they are reported? If so, no support.

If two different people report a comment, then it's automatically hidden.
Also bad word detector and such.
Also bad word detector and such.
And all the world over, each nation's the same,
They've simply no notion of playing the game.
They argue with umpires, they cheer when they've won,
And they practice beforehand, which ruins the fun!

Well maybe it could censor words like “boo” and “Terrible” so then if “MeanScratcher” reports a comment saying “This is awful.” it would get reported automatically, but if he reports “WOW AMAZING!” (srry for caps) it would get sent to the mods. How can you measure if something is rude or not? Terrible might be used in ways such as “'I feel terrible today,' Willowseed said through a fit of coughs.” or “'The evil overlord banned cotton candy? That's terrible!' Rpchara said.” I remember on another site someone was saying that they suck at something, and their comment got deleted. If this was applied in a way with a filter it would raise the amount of false positives. If this was implemented in a way you report something as rude and it got deleted people would abuse this feature.
I would greatly appreciate if you were to check of this game I spent months that includes plot and bosses here https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/97452006/ ………………………………………Want a detailed review or idea?

But how would the filter be able to tell it's about the project and not about the user? Computers can only do so much, at some point human interaction is necessary to really determine whether a comment is inappropriate or not, which is why our current report system works fine.

Still could be abused. I mean rude messages about the project not about themselves.
A bot can't pick up on context or connotation. All it knows is denotation. Report something that has a bad denotation and not necessarily a bad connotation, the bot would pick it up, and if the user found many comments by the same person like this, it could lead to a bot autobanning the user.

No support for this.
Not only that, but the exact same comments could have two different meanings based on context - for example “wow, this project is trash” can refer to someone insulting the project, or someone making a joke (i.e the project only containing an image of a trash bin). It would be extremely hard and near impossible to get a computer to completely scan the entire context, project, and any other relevant items such as past history of a user for every single comment.
The bad word detector also has slip-ups from time to time, letting certain things slide by accident and giving false positives for others. This is why we have the report button - to catch what the BWD won't.I mean rude messages about the project not about themselves.

Deleting an innocent comment is better than ignoring a rude one if you ask me. Besides, who goes back to other people's project just to check out their own comment again?

It would still turn up wayyyy too many false positives. I mean rude messages about the project not about themselves.
No it's not. If an innocent Scratcher has their comment deleted, they could feel like the user they are commenting on hates them, or the mods are being biased against them. Adding this feature would just deter people from Scratch. It's what was said here: Deleting an innocent comment is better than ignoring a rude one if you ask me. Well I'm assuming you meaning alert when you say reported automatically. If this was implemented people would get reports for no good reason. Someone could say “Boo! Happy Halloween!” some troll reports it and the person gets an alert. If someone made a project about something bad that happened to them and someone tried to post a comment that said “That must have been terrible. I hope things get better in the future. Your awesome and I hope you stay determined! ” Some troll could report that, and something that was suppost to cheer up someone will get deleted and the person wrote it will get an alert just for trying to cheer someone up. This can create fear of posting comments to some people, and stop them from ever posting comments again in fear of getting an alert. While this may stop people's feelings from getting hurt, it will also give some people a fear of posting comments which could stop them from talking to someone, role playing, entering maps, complementing someone or giving constructive criticism ever again in fear of getting an alert.Well maybe it could censor words like “boo” and “Terrible” so then if “MeanScratcher” reports a comment saying “This is awful.” it would get reported automatically, but if he reports “WOW AMAZING!” (srry for caps) it would get sent to the mods. Actually deleting an innocent comment can be bad. If “rude” comments are automatically deleted or automatically give people alerts it could cause some damage. For giving people alerts read above. If it's deleted automatically it could cause some damage. For my above example about the comment posted on the project about something bad that happened to someone, if the creator thinks that no one cares because all the support comments has a “rude” word in them they could become very sad, and think no one cares causing them to leave Scratch and become very sad. Someone giving someone else constructive criticism could suggest something that takes the person's projects from frustrating to fun, however due to this filter it would delete the comment making the Scratcher to continue to make frustrating projects leading to the Scratcher becoming said because they have no idea why no one is playing their games. If someone posts a rude comment just report it. In my opinion deleting comments that point out flaws in the project and give suggestions is worse than rude comments. Also sometimes when people are down or feel like it they look at comments that someone posted that say nice things. I know I sometimes look at old comment conversations.Good Idea, However, What If The Comment Wasn't Really Rude? Then, Their Comment Would Be Deleted For No Reason.
