Getting Your Project Noticed
Everyone's had a project which you think is *AWESOME*, but when you next check the project….no views other than your own, 0 loves, 0 favs, 0 remixes….WHAT?
Here are some tips on getting noticed.
First of all…the thumbnail!
The thumbnail is that picture of the project you see before you press the green flag. People are much more likely to view a project with an awesome thumbnail. But how do you change it???
When you save a project, it sets the thumbnail to what the screen looks like when it is saved.
This is how you change the thumbnail:
1. Create a new sprite called “thumbnail” with a screen-wide costume that represents your game.
2. Put this script inside:
4. Make sure it covers the screen, and then click the folder (My Stuff), which is located in the top right-hand corner.
And you're done! Now your project looks awesome, right?
Second…your profile pic!
When people search your project in the search bar, they see your profile pic as well, so get a beautiful profile pic!
How to change your profile pic:
1. Save an image to somewhere on your computer/iPad/whatever you are using.
2. Open up your profile.
3. Hover your mouse over your profile pic, and then click the text that shows up on a black background.
4. Select the image.
Ta da! An awesome profile pic!
Next…studios!
Studios are a great way to get your project noticed because anyone checking the studio will see your project!
How to put your project in a studio:
1. Find a studio related to your project.
2. Some studios won't let you add projects unless you curate…so…
If you can add it:
3. Press “Add Projects”
4. And select the project you want to add.
Now your project is in the studio!
If you can't add it:
3. Go to your project and copy the link that appears in the search bar.
4. Go back to the studio.
5. Click the “comments” tab.
6. Post a comment like this:
OR…
3. Click on the “comments” tab.
4. Post a comment like this:
6. Open the studio.
7. Click on the “curators” tab.
8. Click the “accept invite to curate” link at the top.
9. Click on the “projects” tab.
10. Click on the “add projects” button.
11. Select your project.
Filling out the Instructions + Notes & Credits:
If you see a project, they usually have the Notes and Credits section + the Instructions section filled out. This usually gives people information about the project.
Filling Out the Instructions:
Are there anything they need to do which isn't explained in the project? Type them in here.
Filling Out the Notes & Credits:
Write down any notes about the project here. If there is some storyline or you want an Updates List, add it here!
Was anything in the project not made or programmed by you? Credit the people who made/programmed parts of the project here.
Getting Your Project Front-Paged:
We all get our moment of fame when our project appears in the “Recently Shared Projects” section. However, you may be able to get on the front page for a bigger achievement!
Getting Your Project Front-Paged For The SDS:
The SDS (or Scratch Design Studio) changes themes a lot, and sometimes your project might fit in with the theme!
How To Get Front-Paged For The SDS:
1. Head over to the SDS studio!
2. Check out the current theme and rules. If your project isn't eligible…bad luck!
3. If your project is eligible, leave a nice comment providing a link and some nice message.
4. Wait until it is added to the studio(or rejected).
5. If it is added to the studio, there is a chance you might see it on the front-paged at some stage.
Getting Your Project Curated:
1. Find out who is curating soon.
2. Read their FPC application to see what types of projects and requirements.
3. Find an eligible project that belongs to you.
4. Post a comment like the following:
6. Check the front page on the day they told you your project would be curated.
Hopefully this will boost the views, loves, favs and remixes!
Getting Your Project Top-Remixed/Top-Loved:
If you scroll down to the bottom of the front page, you see projects with a lot of loves/remixes.
Sadly, this is very unpredictable…so…be happy if you do get chosen!
Getting Your Project Featured:
Featured! The king of being front-paged! Sadly, again, this is very unpredictable, as it depends on someone else's opinion of the project and then the Scratch Team's. Your project needs to also fulfill some requirements.
So be happy if you are featured!

Getting Your Project Noticed
In the last part, you mentioned that a project needed to meet “some requirements” in order to be featured. Do you know what these requirements are?I did some research and this is what I found…
A project CANNOT be submitted if it…
1. was created by you or your family member. This means that you CANNOT submit your project or a project by someone in your family.
2. was created by someone whose project(s) have been on the front page already in the last two months (excluding Newest projects or Design Studio)
3. has received more than 100 love-its already.
4. has violence including weapons, hurting animals or people
5. contains language inappropriate for all ages
6. is a copy of a commercial game or story, it's OK if it is inspired by though
7. has been on the front page already (excluding Newest projects or Design Studio)
