they're an overrated company

their old stuff like mario 64 and stuff like that is really good

but their new stuff like the switch ect is meh

The Switch is good, nobody really cares about graphics and frame rate as long as they're not absolute garbage like less than 10 fps for the majority of the game or < 480p. It's really the gameplay and the entire concept of a high-power portable device that's good. I mean seriously, a portable device that has the power to run Breath of the Wild is quite a feat, especially while managing a battery life. Heck, the battery life on my Switch is better than the battery life on my Xbox 360 controller.

The Nintendo Direct was pretty interesting in my opinion. I was definitely not expecting games like Doom to actually make their way to the system, considering how violent it is. I guess the Switch is turning over a new leaf for Nintendo, and catering to a much larger audience than just kids. I found Project Octopath Traveler from Square Enix to be quite an interesting game, and it looks like something I'd definitely buy. And Mario Odyssey? Yeah, that's a must-buy in my opinion, and that should definitely push the system during the holidays (especially if huge restocks are put out). I mean, really, for a console to succeed you need to try hard on the holidays; and with Mario Odyssey, Rocket League, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 all coming out at the end of the year, I feel like there's a lot for people to want. Especially when you include the games already out. Overall I feel like this'll be a great year for the Nintendo Switch, and I hope this traction continues into 2018 (and maybe even better).

The Nintendo 3DS probably should stop being supported though. I see no reason why people should keep developing for such an under-powered console that's many years old by this point. If the 3DS stopped being supported, people would focus more on the Switch, a much more powerful console, which could lead to more third-parties to turning to the Switch instead of the 3DS. I see no reason not to, as the freedom on the Switch is much better than the 3DS, especially considering the size of the games you can put on the system. If this were to happen, I'd hope that more amazing games come to the new console. But I know this will probably not happen from a business standpoint, as the 3DS is still printing money as per usual.

I don't think that a game such as Breath of the Wild can be considered meh, seeing as how it fixed some of the issues from past open world games(such as making traveling fun/discovering new things even late in the game)

I haven't played the full game yet, but I hear its basically Nintendo's big comeback

Though I feel as though sometimes people can become overly nostalgic about things. Don't get me wrong Mario 64 is good and all but nostalgia can make people not want to like new media because they feel new things won't be as good as the stuff from their childhood. Plus you like First Person Shooter type games judging from your profile so obviously that genre is VERY different from Nintendo

So, what's all of your favorite Nintendo consoles? I am honestly not that sure. The gamecube has a ton of nostalgia for me, but I was pretty young when that came out (I was 3 when we got it, but played games on it well into when I was 8) and I loved the Wii as a little kid, but now, while the whole motion control thing is cool, and it did introduce gamers to motion controls, it doesn't really appeal to me as much anymore. The DS is fantastic, and I remember just being blown away as a kid that I could play games like Mario 64 DS Anywhere I wanted. I also loved playing games like Mario kart DS and Mario party DS with my siblings. Also, Pictochat was lit. I love my 3DS as well, but as someone who doesn't care graphics all that much, even I can tell it doesn't look that great, but that's really just because we're in 2017, and HD 720p - 1080p has become the norm. It looked fine back in 2013, when my family first got ours. There are fantastic games for it, but the 3D is pretty useless, and ends up just making the screen look worse (Which is why I have a 2DS). I personally love my Wii U. Despite the game droughts and the fact that it was a commercial failure, I still loved the games, and the asymmetrical gameplay that was never really used to it's full potential. I also feel that the Switch is too early to judge, but it's shaping up to be a great console.

I still remember how the Legend of Zelda 25 Anniversary symphony got me started on the whole Zelda franchise…with Skyward Sword.
I like Skyward Sword. Don't judge me.

And now, the Zelda symphony is going to go again near where I live!


What's my favourite console? Probably the Wii: it was the first I got, and it has a bunch of great games on it.
Not to mention the fact that it's the 2nd best selling console of all time…

Turns out my family has a GameCube…

This fourm is populated by younger Nintendo fans (since most people on Scratch are kids that's this sites target audience) who weren't born when the 64 was the main Nintendo console
