So, simple suggestion. I believe the Show-and-tell forum should be renamed the “Critique and Feedback” forum. Why?

• Currently, show-and-tell is a nearly deserted forum. I know of very few people who actually bother to go look at those projects every now and then. Renaming it might bring more traffic, especially from the frequent forumers, because the goal would be to help people by critiquing their projects instead of simply self-promotion.
  
  
• By potentially bringing more traffic, posters would have a greater chance of being viewed in a “Critique and feedback” forum than they would in show and tell- not entirely eliminating the purpose of the original forum.
  
  
• It would help add emphasis to the coding aspect of scratch and de-emphasize the fame and followers side.
  
  
• Though slightly altering the purpose, it could still easily be a direction for people who want a place to advertise their projects.
  
  
• A renaming would encourage continual growth of a project. I would tend to agree with the philosophy that there's always room for improvement, so a feedback forum would demonstrate that sharing something isn't the last step, it's just one of many on a long staircase.
  
  
• I'm noticing that the Project Ideas forum has quite a few posts that very nearly advertise a project on the basis that they want ideas for upcoming updates. (Please note, I'm not trying to shame any of these posts.) Changing show and tell to Critique and Feedback would make a perfect spot for those posts, saving the Project Ideas forum for just that- ideas for new projects.
  

I'd love to hear thoughts and improvements (dare I say… critique and feedback? ) on this idea, I'm sure it isn't fully developed yet.

I completely agree, since this encourages growth and improvement which (no offence) is sort of needed in certain areas of the Scratch community. Let's be honest, we all need to improve when we first start out (unless you already had experience?) and we all need to improve in general, even people like griffpatch who are considered amazing.

That's a great idea! I've noticed that nobody views that forum either. I'm sure forum helpers would go view that forum a lot more if the primary purpose was to ask for opinions on projects instead of just advertising. I also - like bigpuppy - like the name better.

I think that is better. That way it shows that those forums are for advertising, and it adds the feedback suggested. Besides how are you going to get feedback on a studio? I feel that advertising in the tittle would include them.

They can search up: “Critique definition” and “feedback definition”. Semi-support. Some people want others to view their projects but aren't necessarily asking for critique or feedback. Maybe have Critique and Feedback as a sub-forum of the Show and Tell?

Kind of what many people do want, actually. One of the main complaints for Scratch 3.0 was that it looks too “baby-ish” to lots of people, mostly due to the flat colours and excessive padding. So, it's clear people want it to be more grown-up and professional.

Does that mean that everyone has to search up complicated words just so they can abandon simply words?
