Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor Not Responding

Hi Team,

My browser / operating system: Windows 7, Firefox 55.0, Flash 26.0 (release 0), 4GB RAM
I have installed latest version of Scratch offline editor. Whenever I try to open my project (that includes around 45 assets and the code size is 800KB), the offline editor does not load it, always get an error “Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor Not Responding”. I would prefer working using offline editor rather than using Internet all the time. Pl help, it's urgent.

Have you install

Install Adobe AIR
Have enough space on your computer

If not then I not sure really…

Known issues

If your offline editor is crashing directly after Scratch is opened, install the Scratch 2 offline editor again (see step 2 above). This issue is due to a bug introduced in Adobe Air version 14 (released April 2014).

Graphic effects blocks (in “Looks”) may slow down projects due to a known Flash bug.

The backpack is not yet available.

Thanks, I have already tried this but didn't work. Should i try earlier version of Adobe Air, I mean Adobe Air 13 or less?

Well, there have been problems with the latest Firefox version on Scratch recently… but that doesn't really explain anything with the offline editor. So, I'm not really sure. You can try downgrading Firefox, but it probably won't make a difference… But what do you mean when you say that you don't want to use Internet. Why not? Do you have some kind of limit? And you're using the internet to respond to this anyway…

Firefox 55 works fine for me.

The browser is not related to Scratch offline editor… Also when installing Scratch editor you actually are installing Adobe Air too
I suspect you are committing some mistake involving a recursive unstoppable task.

But what could it be? I just try to open my project using offline editor and it doesn't get loaded. Is it something related to configuration/settings in Adobe Air or Plugin? Not able to resolve it yet. Pl help.

AARGH!!! My scratch 2.0 offline is lagging and I haven't saved my project so I can't just restart it!!! What do I do???

Erm, i've just downloaded Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor when im trying to finish it, it says “Server Error: No Response”

when green flag clicked
ask [wanna publish?] and wait
if <(answer) = [yes]> then
say [Server Error: No Response]

I hadn't saved my project when it froze up, so having to force quit was… hard. (My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.14.6, Safari 13.1.1, No Flash version detected)

I was having the same problem until I realized that the default Adobe Air can't download scratch 2 because scratch 2 is an older version .

What you have to do :

step 1 :
you have to download another version of Adobe Air . I downloaded the Airman version of Adobe air called : Adobe air sdk …

Make sure you copy and paste to the search bar because if you simply just click it it might not work

step 2 :

Select your platform . If you are a mac os user click mac os download BUT if you are a windows then click the windows download .

step 3 :
Accept anything and then download
Wait a minute after installation . Done

Note:
It should work in windows . To me it worked . If it doesn't work try running as administrator
if it still doesn't work try the windows troubleshoot option so you can see the problem …
