#Bring_it_Back should be discouraged (read before complaining!)

Seriously, It's getting pretty annoying, I think we should just censor #Bring_it_Back, why? Well

1. The discuss Button removal update was like a month ago.

2. The ST said they are not going to put the discuss button back, making #Bring_it_Back pointless.

3.Some people said that the ST sucks because of the discuss button being gone.

4. There was a completely logical reason the ST removed the Discuss button

5. The only reason people support #Bring_it_Back is because they say “New Scratchers won't know where to look!”, and thats getting repetitive. When someone joins Scratch, what is the first thing they want to do? That's right, make projects! They will find out about the forums later on,

so yeah, these are my reasons.
I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this am i?

Note: I am not against anyone who supports #Bring_it_Back, only #Bring_it_Back itself.

Note2: If you are like me and don't support #Bring_It_Back, come to this studio and ask to join. https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/4205417/

Note3: Please don't leave any “I know how to make New Scratchers can notice the forums!” suggestions, because I don't want that in this topic, make a new topic instead, please

Note4: STOP TALKING ABOUT SHOP OWNERS! Please! It's off-topic!

Scratchers can have any opinion they want, and are allowed to express that opinion (as long as it is appropriate for all ages).
Because of that, I believe people should be allowed to keep #Bring_it_Back.
Now it is a completely different situation if people keep messaging you or another scratcher saying something like “Help support #Bring_it_Back!”
This would result in an alert for spamming to that one scratcher only, but those who are responsible and are not spamming others may continue to express any idea they want.

No Support. It's an opinion Scratchers can have. If they want #Bring_It_Back, let them. There is no way any of us could stop them.

well, I think it should be at least discouraged, because the ST confirmed they are not going to “Bring It Back”

I'm not really happy about removing the ‘Discuss’ button, and the reason to remove it isn't really logical (let's be honest, who uses Explore?) But I do accept the fact that the ST removed it and that they will not bring it back. I'm fine with that.

I “semi-support” because

1. For those who want to #Bring_It_Back, they already said they will not “bring it back” and you can always use the link at the bottom. It really isn't that hard to navigate to the bottom of a webpage.

2. However, people do have their opinions and if they want to express them, let them. If things get out of hand (e.g. spamming or ridiculing the ST) you can report.

i found a solution, even before ST rejected the suggestions, by using the ad-block software in my web browser. it can be used both on the images and the text hashtag.

in general, censorship is wrong. but i am on the forum to learn things, not have the same message spammed at me over and over again even though every page of the website links to the forums, the front page more than once.

maybe semi-support?

Let's assess your reasons.

Why should duration have an effect on the validity of a suggestion?

I-Iz-A-Litten wrote:

True, but that isn't grounds for censorship.

I-Iz-A-Litten wrote:

3. Some people said that the ST sucks because of the discuss button being gone.
That is a definite minority of people, and a view that the #Bring_it_Back suggestion does not endorse.

I-Iz-A-Litten wrote:

I disagree with this one. They said it was getting removed because of a) a lack of clicks and b) To make room for Tips without creating a formatting problem. Let's start with a). If a useful resource isn't getting enough clicks, it should be promoted, not removed. As for b), there have been many reasonable suggestions that avoid the formatting problems such as replacing the About button, using the abundant space on the far left and right, and a ‘more’ dropdown.

And what do they do when they run into a problem they can't solve on a project?
The ‘repetitive’ reasoning is a valid concern.

Conclusion: no support, people have a right to express their opinions.

To be honest, even though I'm not that tolerant of #Bring_it_back, banning seems too far.

If somebody is being disrespectful towards the Scratch Team, their comment is already against the rules.

Otherwise there is nothing wrong with their comment.

So, in effect, your suggestion is already implemented.

Of course! Also, about the part when Scratch Team said they removed the button because of the Create and Explore block. I don't think that removing a button to promote these buttons is going to work, and I don't think it works either.

Okay, I'm going into explanation mode in 3, 2, 1, go!

In a way you are right, in another way you are wrong. Yes, it is annoying and sorta in vain for the ST is not bringing it back, eye have made that very clear. Suggestions are okay, but maybe they should sensor it to stop people from virtually spamming on Scratch with Bringitback. On the other hand we are all pretty mad at Scratch right now, banning this will cause outrage, ST members profiles will be spammed with hate, there will be an uncontrollable amount of flame wars and Scratch would become kinda unfriendly.

All considered I think, no. But I would see the sense in this happening…

1. I think the Discuss button heat should have died down by now.

2. People are basically whining for something that's not going to happen.

3. Still, if the discuss button being gone leads to Scratchers hating the ST, thats not okey.

4. The discuss button was removed because “Discuss” might be longer in other languages, for example, Discuss is Diskutieren in German. (according to Google Translate) Logical enough for you?

5. There is a big fat link to the forums in the Scratch Welcoming Committee!! And plus, a Scratchers first project is probably something basic that would take 5 minutes to program.

Semi-support, while I do agree that the removal of a button isn't a big deal, it doesn't give you the license to silence them.
