Wiki Forum/Section
Hey everyone! I have a suggestion that the Scratch Team could add, it is a wiki-editor-only forum.
My ideas are that it would be a completely new section, with 3 different sub-forums.

I have another idea for it, maybe in the about scratch forum it could just be 1 wiki forum.
I hope it gets added!
Now you are probably thinking, MClovers, we already have the community portal. Well, Scratchers can access that and see. The wiki forum would make it so no Scratchers can see!
Cheers

I think that there should only be a Wikian forum, since EW+ already have a Skype voice chat that they use for private discussion.
However, I'll have to semi-support since there already is the Scratch Wiki talk:Community Portal.
Also, there's the fact that all forums that are locked like this check something related to the normal site. How would it know if you are a wiki contributor?
Also, not enough people know about the [wiki] tag. They should do something about that.

Support, this would be very useful for any help with editing and stuff.
But I think it should be restricted to contributors, like if you didn't make a request to sign up for the wiki, then you can only view the forum unless such.

I support this, as long as it receives the same level of moderation as the other forums. All topics in the “Wiki Forum” must directly relate to the Scratch Wiki, and anything about hobbies, what they're coding in Scratch (unless it involves something historic/notable in the Wiki), etc., should be pushed to other forums.
I also feel like it should be open to everyone who have questions such as “what is the Wiki?”, “where can I find the Wiki?”, or “how can I become a Wiki editor?”, preventing a large amount of people from feeling excluded.
Wiki editors should also be encouraged to use the Community Portal.

I don't think it should be open to everyone. We could discuss Wiki Wednesday stuff. I support this, as long as it receives the same level of moderation as the other forums. I think it would be a good idea to make it public to everyone; that way, people who don't have a wiki account can also make suggestions to improve it and all of that.

ALL the forums shouldn't be public to everyone. I think it would be a good idea to make it public to everyone; that way, people who don't have a wiki account can also make suggestions to improve it and all of that.
Maybe just a new forum. “Wiki Anncouncments”

They're all accessible by everyone to make sure that it's thoroughly moderated.

We only need one - Wiki discussion. It'll be used by non-wiki contributors for suggestions. Other than that, wiki contributors have essentially the entire wiki to discuss wiki related things.“Scratch Wiki” (accessible by everyone, everyone can create new topics and post)ALL the forums shouldn't be public to everyone. It would be useful to make a Wiki Wednesday forum so wiki editors can discuss what the new articles are gonna be.

You could put in your wiki details. Also, there's the fact that all forums that are locked like this check something related to the normal site. How would it know if you are a wiki contributor

I think we should just use the CP. I don't see any need for a private forum. There's not really anything private about the wiki we need to talk about on a regular basis. About Wiki Wednesday, if people that don't edit the wiki don't want to see the suggestions for it, then they don't have to look.

Yes, I think this would be a good idea. At the moment I don't see any obvious forum where you can do this(?) I think it would be a good idea to make it public to everyone; that way, people who don't have a wiki account can also make suggestions to improve it and all of that.
Also, not enough people know about the [wiki] tag. They should do something about that.Agreed. I know about it, but I only learned about it after a couple of years of foruming. :P

I agree. Once I saw somebody make a topic in the suggestions forum for updating something in the wiki, because there was no other place to do it. I think it would be a good idea to make it public to everyone; that way, people who don't have a wiki account can also make suggestions to improve it and all of that.
I feel that just this forum should be fine. I don't think we need any more than this.

The whole point of the wiki forum was to make it only for wikians. Their could be another forum called public wiki. Everything else, WIKIAN-ONLY.

Mostly Support and Different Suggestion - Is there a specific need for it? Yes, I am aware that we have the CP that all wikians can use, and Scratchers can see the CP. There is nothing on there that we need to hide from the community. Therefore, I dont think a forum for Normal Wikiansis necessary. And since Admins and EWs are in the same usergroup, I would suggest one forum that is hidden - after all, the SDS forum is hidden. Be aware that not all Admins or EWs have the availability of Skype. Overall I believe that there should be different forums than what you have listed.

Semi-Support. I like the idea of one for every wikian, but the others seem to just exclude Scratcher's, which is something I discourage.

The SDS forum is only open to SDS curators.
