Bad Word Detector
Did you put anything like “I would never use the -Blank- word”?

Oops, you just used it! D:Huh?
Not like a swear word, that is the thing, not the name. The name is “swear word” the thing is the actual swears.Okay, pretend swimming was an inappropiate action. Saying “I would never put swimming in my projects” would be inappropiate because it says the name of the bad thing. You see what I mean?

(removed by moderator - please keep it polite)It also might be something the detector saw that you couldn't.
Say the blocked word is “Read”.
While you see nothing wrong with it, the detector would block this:
“Where advertisements are held.”
You see nothing wrong with it. But this is what the detector see:"Where advertisements are held."
See what happened there?
Oooo, it's like magic. Can you show us another one?

Please use a different example that doesn't contain a swear.-snip-It also might be something the detector saw that you couldn't.

If you truly believe it did not break the rules, you can post it. Forums have a less strict censor (if any). You won't be banned (unless maybe you have a ton of alerts? Can't speak on behalf of moderators)Not like a swear word, that is the thing, not the name. The name is “swear word” the thing is the actual swears.Because by saying that, you are actually saying the words. Also, Scratch needs to be safe for children as young as 8.Yes, it can be.Mentioning a simple word is not bad. That isn't fair. The bad word detector doesn't appeal and I would like to be able to mention the names of bad things.
The names of bad things are themselves bad things.
“I would never say something like (insert list of swear words)”
That'd be against the community guidelines, obviously.

Maybe next time just say you wouldn't say it, but don't give examples of things you wouldn't say.
(say) "I would not say ANYTHING bad about cats"
(Don't say) "I would not say ANYTHING bad about cats, like they smell like moldy cheese."
Yeah, insulting cats won't set off the bad word detector, but it is a good example of what not to say.

it also deletes shipping stuff but only if the character names are said, e.g “CHAR. NAME' likes ”OTHER CHAR.NAME".

Here's how the bad word detector works:
It'll block anything that's a bad word. For example, if “cat” were a bad word, it'd be blocked, along with any other spelling of it, such as “kat”, “catt”, “c@”, “katt”, etc.
It would also block any instance of seeing it in text, for example, "gfjenbgfdnkjgcatfjdhigfheuigfiihi“. If ”dog“ was a blocked word, it'd also censor ”Do good".
If you're mentioning the name of any bad word or bad thing, it'll set off the bad word detector.

Bad Word Detector
I tried to update one of my scratch project's description. I was writing a notice to tell parents that I do not link to bad content and never will, and Scratch said the bad word detector has stopped me and it deleted half of my description and I had to cope. What was wrong about including a notice for parents? True, I did reference to some of the bad things, but I didn't go deep into them all I was doing was giving parents some examples of what I would never refer to in my projects. What is wrong?Hi! I think I know what's wrong. What is happening to you has happened to me twice. I had a lot of text in my description, and one day when I went to update it and it set off the detector. The only way I fixed it was deleting all the text, and reloading the page. If you copy all the text, delete it, reload it and then paste it back, it won't work.

if you say you will never give a link to bad content, and you say the contents name, a curious kid may look it up

That literally took me 10 mins to make that up. ._.
I mean unless you're being sarcastic. ._.
I'll make one. The bad word detector detects the rude word is stop.
The worst option is to go outside in the rain.
