XP Bar / Levels on accounts

I think there should be an XP Bar and levels on accounts. You will not be rewarded anything, but it just shows your experience on scratch.

Mockup:
imageshack.com/poCPlv4rp
(i have Isonline so it looks a bit different)

When you first join scratch, the bar will look like this:
imageshack.com/pnZ7MgI1p

Every time you share a project, you get 10 XP, if you get a love or favorite, you get 15 XP, and every 5 views gives you 5 XP.

The ranks start at New, then Intermediate, then Pro, then Master.

There will be a change to the account settings.

You can pick the Type of user you are.
The types are Coder, Animator, Musician, Artist, Game Creator, and Other, where you can pick what you are.
The type will appear on the XP bar next to your rank.

bye

I'm not sure, but:

9. Game badges/achievements
This would harm Scratch's purpose, and people would determine their social worth on the site based on achievements in games, and some users would act as if they are more important than others merely because they have more game badges.
Especially the ranks. People could brag about their ranks, which could hurt some lower ranked Scratchers feelings. No support.

What's the point of having XP and ranks anyways? People can see how progressed you are in Scratch by viewing your projects and their coding complexity/creativity. No support.

No support. Not being rude or anything, but..
1: This doesn't really have a purpose to it, Scratch is for learning how to code and make projects, not how far you've gotten.
2: This is rejected, because, like I said, it defeats the purpose of Scratch. Scratch is a coding site, not a game. It also would cause a lot of “I have a higher rank than you, so I'm better” stuff, I'm pretty sure we have enough of that with New Scratcher/Scratcher status which is literally only used to prevent spam.

However, I semi-support on the type of Scratcher you are, like artist/animator/coder/gamer/musician/etc., but maybe like you can choose all that apply (for example, I'm an artist/animator).

As for the first suggestion, it's rejected. Please read the stickies before posting a suggestion.
For the type of Scratcher, support. You should be able to change it to whatever you want.

I support this, not the other point, and I think you should be able to choose more than one.

Semi-support,
Ranking scratchers can help new scratchers find people that they can ask to help them easier.
And saying that you can show that your an animator or musician can also show people what you're strong in so scratchers can ask those people who are strong in these for help.

The XP Bar seems useless, it might clutter the servers with variables from scratchers that might not use their accounts for years

No Support. As per the rejected suggestions on points/achievements, Scratch is not a game/contest website. Besides, having more XP than others could cause jealousy and more bullying, and we don't want that.

Besides, adding the feature could cause a fight about it and even war and objections, just like when the Scratchers went into an uproar when the Scratch Team decided to remove the Discuss button.

No Support sorry. But this would have no purpose. This isn't a game where you level up, and get achievements. Plus, the way I think the path would go, is people would have raised ego about their XP and level, which would harm the community, and make Scratch, not Scratch.

Though, I do like the, Choose What Type of Scratcher You Are, but what if your new to Scratch?

No, this would lead to popularity contests as everything you can do to earn exp is based on how popular your projects are.
And making projects for exp is also flawed. There is a huge difference between a platformer that is in black, white, and red, uses a cube for a character and the core scripts are backpacked from another project that took a day to make and a platformer that has colored+Shaded art,a plot, animations, multiple endings and boss fights that took 3 months to make. Making projects should be about quality, not quantity.
