Homestuck: Beforus: [A Fan Game] (Now Hiring!)

Homestuck: Beforus is a fan game that I am making based on the lives and the Sburb session of the Dancestors. I will be creating it using Scratch and it will be posted here, too. I am aware that Homestuck isn't exactly Scratch-Appropriate, but this fan game will be clean. (Or at least no curse words, adult themes, etc. There may be small references of a few mature topics, but those would be hardly noticeable to someone who isn't in the fandom, and it would still be PG13 at the most.)

If someone would be willing to help me create sprites, that would be amazing! I mean, I could do it myself or use official sprites, but it would be great to have some sprites that aren't in my style.

Sprites would be simplistic rendered versions of the character. Any talksprites I would be drawing myself.

I also need someone to help me storyboard and make sure that nothing I put in it is contradicting what's canon. The only requirement for this is that you have to have read the entirety of Homestuck, or at least most of it. This is the most important position because I haven't read all of Homestuck yet, so I need someone to help me get my facts straight.

Genre of Music you Specialize in: Organic music I guess. I'm best at piano, but I can also use violins and guitars. I suck at making drum beats. I can try to make electronic music, but I'm not very good at it. Calm music is easier for me, but not all that I can make.

But I have a few questions and suggestions:
1. By original music, we ARE allowed to use leitmotifs, right?
2. Have you decided on the plot? Like what Mituna did and stuff.
3. Stop BUNPING the topic. Create a studio, with a trailer and voice actor recruits and musician recruits and artist recruits. Hardly anyone checks the forums. You can employ the dirty trick of inviting all your followers, or maybe just invite all your Homestuck followers. If you invite me, I'll invite my Homestuckian followers too.
4. I command you to edit all the above posts to say BUNP instead of Bump. No true Homestuck will say Bump when they can say BUNP. Jk but please do it

I can also help with the fact-checking. Like I said, Homestuck is my main jams, and I'm about to re-read it. In particular, the Beforus trolls have always been my favorite group of characters, and I've got a pretty decent grasp on wacky troll hijinks.

I could also maybe do voice acting stuff? If you really need people, I mean, because I'm pretty sure there are people who could do better than me. But I could give Cronus or Horuss a go, as soon as I have the time and space to whip up a voice sample.

This sounds like something with a bunch of potential, I'm hype.

So, to start, I'm gonna say you're part of the collab even though I can't listen to your music since I am on a kindle and my computer is broken. (Again.)

And maybe your test for the music could be writing something for the tutorial part of the game. At the moment, you'd be playing as Kankri and I repeatedly break the fourth wall during that time. Just take that into consideration when writing stuff.

1. TBH, I don't actually know what a leitmotif is, but if it's sorta like a remix, then yeah.

2. Sorta. I don't know about Mituna per se, but I have figured some things out which I won't mention here because there are spoilers involved and people always read spoilers.

3. I only bump the topic once in a blue moon (every 2-3 weeks), and I don't have any Homestuck followers. I will create a studio and invite you so you can invite people, though.

4. I am an avid Homestuck, but I actually don't get the BUNP reference… I haven't read the whole comic, yet.

Your music is awesome! I really like it. I think I'm going to have you focus on more upbeat pieces since our other musician focuses on slower music.

You could definitely be my fact-checker, and feel free to suggest plot lines, but post those on the profile that I made this post with.

As for voices, do who you feel like. I'll see as soon as possible!

Ok, I'll admit, I completely forgot about this. But I still want to do it. I just have a question about the Kankri intro thing: should it be calm, like, what mood should it have? It's an intro, but what does he really do? I just want to get more of a feel for what I should do. Also, I probably won't use any leitmotifs for this specific song. Thanks!

I honestly forgot about this, too. My recommendation would be doing something that sounds like soft church music, keeping with his “sermons” or whatever. Iron Infidel is heavily taken from church music, so maybe go from there.

Thanks! I'll try and do what fits the best. I'm playing around with BeepBox, so soon I'll probably be able to do 8-bit music too.

I am so stumped for ideas, I'm not good at making specific songs for specific moods yet. Sorry. But I made a beepbox song, you can name it and use it however you want, or not. It's not good. I might still make some improvements to it, so don't export it yet.

I'm actually considering cancelling the project. We don't have enough people, and, in all honesty, I'm not that active on Scratch anymore.
