I really enjoyed watching, and recommend
-Naruto (original series)
-Samurai 7
-Your Lie in April (shigatsu wa kimi no uso)
-RWBY*
If I think of more I'll recommend more.
*RWBY sometimes isn't considered anime because of its unique animation, but the storyline is well thought out.
oh, and Log Horizon (one and two)

Sword Art Online 2. It is about a game called GGO or Gun Gale Online but I don't want to spoil too much. It has SOME sexual things(FORCE-but not really, Kirito saves the day!), but it is very exiting and is really fun to watch! It has a death but after that nothing. That's all I remember about it, sorry x3.
There is also Sword Art Online 1(Or just Sword Art Online) and it only gets brhgeufhgegi in the ‘2nd season’. The first one has much violence/gore but it's just in a video game x3 hope I helped! (Anime based on Video Games xD)

Anime/manga Recommendations and Age Ratings ~ PLEASE COMMENT AND RECOMMEND!!!
I have a few suggestions!
As a very young teen myself, I know the pain of trying to find good, engaging, while also clean anime.
My suggestions:
*Chi's Sweet Home
Chi is an adorable anime aimed for young children, with a cute and engaging story and characters!
Chi is a little kitten who belongs to a family of three who decides to move out of their current apartment because it doesn't allow pets. The art style is adorable, (example is my profile picture. I drew it in the chi style!) I think the worst in it is mild potty humor, which I'm not even sure is in there at all. It can be found on Crunchyroll! (Subbed only)
*My hero Academia
This is a show about a world in which 95 percent of the population has some quirky superpower. The main character Deku however, is quirk-less. My hero is a great, funny, and inspiring show telling a story about how no matter what, everyone can be a hero and positively affect someone's life. It contains some tight body suits on women and low shirts. Also, a certain character cusses occasionally, but it's never overly bad words.
*Tonari No Seki Kun
A completely clean comedy about a boy who just won't focus during class. Every day, Seki brings some intricate toy to fiddle with, while distracting the main character (I forgot her name). Lucky for Seki, (and not for the main girl) he sits behind a really tall kid, and never gets caught. It's completely clean, with perhaps extremely minor cussing very occasionally. The words are so minor, that they aren't even considered cussing in most families, but I'm pretty sure that they aren't even there in the first place. Can be found on Crunchyroll subbed.
*Blue Exorcist
This one may not be ok. It has some Christian themes, that depending what kind of Christian you are (if you are one at all) may not be ok. Rin Okumera is the son of a demon, (I'm not saying which one cuz I don't want to spoil anything) and goes to school to become an exorcist so that his demon father can't hurt those he loves. It's funny, and action filled, without being overly scary. Some scenes may be disturbing, and Rin and other characters cuss often, but never actually say anything OVERLY bad. It can be found on crunchyroll both subbed AND dubbed. CHECK WITH YOUR PARENTS ABOUT THIS ONE. I may also suggest doing some research on sites like Plugged In or My Anime List about this anime(or any of the ones I've mentioned) just to be sure that I didn't miss anything bad.
*Any Studio Ghibli Movie EXCEPT Princess Mononoke and Porko Rosso
May I suggest Kiki's delivery service and Totoro?
Hope I helped! I would love to suggest more, but I think I've done enough damage for one day, haha!
Happy watching!

Amanchu! and Flying Witch are two very clean, nice to watch slice-of-life shows. Amanchu! has only one mild swear word used once in the official subtitles; Flying Witch has no swearing, violence, ecchi, or anything of the sorts (except for the sister drinking alcohol sometimes).

I just finished watching Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April). I'm now depressed. Fantastic anime though. 10/10. It does have some violence though, mainly in the family so it could be disturbing for the younger audience.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica, but it's pretty dark. So I really only recommend you to watch this if you can deal with heavy themes like death and such.

That violates every rule the original poster had for “age-appropriate” anime.

Tons of violence ~well, there goes all the good stuff…
Inappropriate content ~ (nu - - - y)
Very dark themes ~
I'm okay with some blood and fighting and a bit of dark stuff, the main thing I don't wanna see is inappropriate stuff.
but here's what i got anyway:
{CA} = currently airing
-if ur into slice of life stuff:
non non biyori - life in the sticks (current fav show for me)
k-on - a light music club…that spends more time drinking tea and eating cake than actually playing music
yuru yuri - k-on without music
lucky star - yuru yuri but from 2007
love live - school idols
dragon maid - dragons in human form that live with humans (ecchi warning, but still pg-13)
-if u want something faster paced (action/adventure/sports) - all pg-13:
mob psycho 100 - kid has crazy psychic powers
konosuba - a bunch of misfits go on adventures (ecchi warning, but still pg-13)
my hero academia - people have superpowers {CA}
initial d - street racing and drifting
kemono friends - girl with amnesia wakes up in a park with animal girls — low budget cgi but still great - starts slow but gets really good.
-other:
gabriel dropout - angel girls and demon girls living on earth
plastic memories - guy falls in love with android that's about to die (major feels warning)
aho girl - insanely stupid girl (12 min eps) {CA}
-for movies:
your name (pg) - body swapping drama — probably my all time favorite movie
koe no katachi (pg-13) - guys path to redemtion after bullying a deaf girl — this pushes the reqs a little as it is very heavy…be prepared to cry
wolf children (pg) - girl raises kids who can turn into wolves
if u can find some time when ur parents arent around, watch akira (teen gangster developes crazy powers) and redline (over the top racing)
- slight nudity warning for both
also kill la kill (half naked girl does crazy fighting stuff)

I've read a little bit of the Legend of Zelda mangas (The Four Swords/Majora's Mask/Ocarina of Time). And let me tell you– they're amazing. I don't know if you're a Zelda fan, but I just thought I'd recommend it. :3

I recommend reading Pokespe! (AKA Pokemon Adventures) It's a pretty good manga, there's some dark tones and mild swearing but nothing too bad. I suggest the Johto chapters for more of a lighthearted feel.

WATCH NORAGAMI!! It doesn't have a lot of fanservice or anything like that, it's a little violent, but it's really funny and sweet!!

Ok, so the only two things I'm like “this isn't quite correct” about are 1. Blue Exorcist is actually rated 16+ (older teen) and they only do that when it shows extreme fanservice (but for some reason No Game No Life is ok I really don't know) and 2. My little sister watched some of Porco Rosso when she was 5 and she liked it, it was one of the only ones that was appropriate for her. And if Blue Exorcist's producer is Kodansha Comics, nvm about the rating they mess their ratings up
