This is a reincarnation of my “Music Production: The Topic”

It will be almost exclusively EDM focused but that isn't enforced.

In here you can discuss songs you have made, DAW's you use, your Soundbutts, Bandcamps, and asking for advice.

A new thing that I am going to add is a section for tutorials and a section for everyone's soundbutt. This way people looking to get into EDM production to Veterans can get help and learn new things. Feel free to post synth-recipes and other tips.

This is a short ringtone I made in FL Studio. It was my first project that I ever worked on for more than an hour. (seems like a long time for such a short song.)

Relevant to my interests.

I don't do much yet, mostly messing around with Alchemy on my iPad but I want to get into it more. I've heard good things about Ardour but the sound on my Linux partition doesn't appear to function.

I really, really want to get back into music production, but I just can't find any software I like. LMMS might be decent, but it's glitched up on me as of late, and other stuff just looks complicated. This seems like a terrible thing to say, but I really liked GarageBand.

Really, it had a playable piano-keyboard function, and the piano roll was easy to use and edit. Not quite sure if I can get enough good editable instruments out of it, though.

Of course, there's also the problem that I don't have a Mac, but I can probably grab an install disc from somewhere and see if I can hax it onto a VM or something.

Not sure if it would be anything you could use, but FL Studio seems to be a pretty good quality software. There is a free version that you can use; however, you cannot save projects in the fl studio format and re-open them again.

I poked at the FL Studio demo once, and recall being kinda clueless. Maybe I'll try it again, I dunno.

Here is my bandcamp.
I use Ardour as my DAW. It's pretty awesome

Also, I highly recommend this blog to anyone that does home recording.

It was a bit confusing when I first started it; however, there are thousands of tutorials and helpful videos to help with that.

I was trying that out on my Linux side but it took me a while to set up sound drivers and then once I got it to start, it crashed. It looks really complicated though.

For kicks and giggles, I'm installing Adobe Audition 3 (because it's free). This now brings up my recording software amount to A WHOLE BUNCH.

I use Audition 3, but have you found out how to use a QWERTY keyboard as a MIDI controller for it? I have various software that's supposed to do that but I get nothing.
