This will make orders less important to the shops. After all, each shop is specifically designed to take requests with just its staff and complete it for the scratcher. It will take emphasis off of ordering and shop advertising because it would be better to just find a shop that specializes in what you need than asking so many people. This scratcher chose a specific shop to go to when they could've gone to any other shop.
This, but I feel like shops could share premade items.

Okay, thanks for your feedback! I strongly agree with this statement but I'm primarily focusing on orders that have not been completed for a while, or the ones that have been on the incomplete orders list for a while, and not complete involvement in shop activities.

Should I tweak this only to cover those types of incomplete orders only?

This was not intended as offensive but I didn't want to mess up the name of your shop (from memory, the shop names and owner matching is getting partially confusing. I didn't want to put Emoji or something else. It should be fixed now.)

jromagnoli wrote:

That is another good point, building on my previous statement inside this post. This service/benefit will not encourage full order completions from people outside, but rather assistance in difficult, neglected orders that shops may want to forward to others, outside of their shops, who may be able to complete the order for them.

EDIT NOTE: I thank everyone for their input, and the statements to why you, or why you don't support this suggestion, but I'll be re-considering this suggestion as I see it's a primary concern for many. I could assemble these valid points and re-construct/remove this suggestion at a later time, but until then, I will strongly consider this suggestion's outcomes for many shops. (One shop has even offered to quit in case this gets passed. )

Inter-Shop Order Completion Revision I
Greetings, I am here to provide everyone with a new, revised version of the inter-shop order completion benefit.

I have read and considered upon your feedback you all have sent me, in no order and personally-identifiable information censored/removed:
I think it's a bad Idea. It would be a good idea (for example if you received an order that you didn't have the equipment to do), but my problem is that they're doing it WITHOUT THE SHOP OWNERS PERMISSION. That's like in the EU if Belgium says to Greece “Your political state is awful, and even though you are trying your best, you're doing a !@#$ job, and so we'll be taking over for now. But then Greece is, of course, proud and don't WANT any help, but even so, Belgium can take over for a while because of a new law they just passed last week. ”No!“ Greece says. ”No no NO!!! “You CAN'T do this!” “Oh yes, we can!” Says Belgium, waving a piece of paper at them, and we will. And of course, they can. What if I got an order, and I thought “This will prove to the world what SWS CAN DO!” So then I'm almost finished the thing, and then Sigton's comes along and says, “Oh Hi SW12, we've just completed your order, thought it would be too much to handle for you. We gave it to the person, explained everything, and she was really glad, said she would DEFINITELY use this and give us credit!” Can you imagine?
Thanks. My opinion is I'm rather opposed to this idea. It may be good for the large shops, such as Sigton's Shop, but small shops like Lightsaber Stores, The Solar Wind Shop and others struggle to get orders at all, without having to worry about other shops swooping in and doing the orders for them. If we need help, we ask our partners. If this motion is passed, my store will leave the USS.
Well, seen as shops of all sizes are members of the USS, why not present the idea but make it opt-out? That would benefit larger shops while still allowing the smaller ones to do business.
OK, but I still think it's a bad idea. If it is carried out you should need to obtain the shop owners permission. Or it could even be an opt-in thing, for small shops who don't have capable staff
I do not support inter-shop order completions because it is the duty of each shop to complete its own orders. If you want to take another shop's order, then join the shop.

I understand the following concerns have been brought up:
It may be done without the shop owner's permission. I do not intend on this occurring, instead having an opt-out option which I will clearly present to each shop if this is passed. If they opt-out, that is fine! If they want to, that's fine as well!

People will just take the responsibility (belonging to a shop) to complete an order and take it all. My suggestion was a bit vague, instead of having it generally focus on completing orders, it is intended to just simply focus on old, neglected orders that are incomplete, and not including orders that the shop can immediately complete. This will be more precisely explained later.

Benefits larger shops, and not smaller ones. This is a bit of an issue that can't be avoided.

Will make shops less independently functional. With this revision, it will not allow individuals to seize control of a shop's order business, but rather allow individuals to assist in a small amount of it, more specifically the neglected orders, which will be explained later.

Focusing on those issues, I have revised this suggestion:
Shops receive orders. Many of them are taken real quick, while others take a little while, and some are just passed by continuously, and slide through the pages, but that isn't where the service comes in. After a few requirements are met, those neglected orders will be added to a list found here at this topic, or another official USS topic, and be open to completion by individuals from shops under the USS. This allows only neglected orders to be routinely completed in the background, while in the foreground, the individual shops are still doing their job. If somehow shops still do not want this, they can opt out completely.

The only requirements I have came up with are:
  • Not claimed by anybody. If it has been, it must have been dropped more than a week before.
  • Untaken for 28 days/four weeks.

Thanks for reading and for the feedback!
USS Co-Founder/Co-Owner Austinato

EDIT: Fixed list tagleak at end.
