Replacing the entire cast was a bold move. Let's see if it'll pay off (not that the first three films were that good either, but still).

I don't know why DOAWK's entry on the Best Books list on The Top Tens got so many hate comments. I bet they're trolls that either do not appreciate humor or mad that their favorite books were below Diary of a Wimpy Kid's place.

There's always been some sort of stigma in media that comedy means the work isn't good, and vice versa, maybe that's it.

I think the idea is that, since the work is intended to be humorous, it will inevitably attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator (read:“unsophisticated”) and nothing more, which is obviously not true. It gets worse since the comedy items that do follow this rule are so low in number, but they're picked up and used as examples at the drop of a hat.

Yup, I have! It's probably my second favorite out of all the books. (#9 is my absolute favorite!)

I think the author went too far with the box jellyfish scene, even though the rest of the book was pretty funny. Also, when Greg traps that tarantula, you know how its leg falls off? Later, a seven legged tarantula crawls up his arm. See the connection?

The books are good in my opinion, but I never got why Jeff Kinney had to make Greg such a jerk after the first book

Oh man, that book is at least my second favorite now! It's just packed with so much funny stuff, like The Long Haul (which is my absolute favorite, BTW). Also, yeah, that moment was great!

They're both very good, and very very entertaining, but I think that, personally, I like Diary of a Wimpy Kid just a little bit better.
