As several people said above, 3D is rejected and if you aren't lying, show us your awesome new original non-remix Scratch project.

scratch is as 3D as anything out there, a flat image that responds to keyboard/mouse. now the 3D render engine… you'll have to figure that out. ProdigyZeta7 has, and so have many others. It can't be that hard, can it?

No. Scratch 3D would be too complicated. If you want 3D programming, use Alice or something and post a download link on a project.

Well, it's not hard, you just need some math… But it's basically only using the pen to drawn outlines. Fancy 3D stuff is not impossible, but it would be incredibly laggy, it's not a viable way.

Can we just close this topic already? Its been rejected by the scratch team and the reasoning behind this makes no sense.
You have to wait 2 months? What? How would the camera work? The z position? And how are you going to make it not lag?

Minecraft is not written in Flash. Flash would be pretty slow using 3D, and it would be a better solution to just use a different program to write a game in.

Minecraft != Scratch
Minecraft is a downloadable program, Scratch is an online Flash app.

As mentioned above, 3D Scratch is possible, but rendering it is pretty laggy. They're not going to make a ‘new Scratch’ that works better with 3D - there are other programs that will do that fine. It's already been rejected and that won't change, so as JamesOuO said there's not much point in this topic staying open.

The closest thing I have seen to 3D in Flash that isn't from Scratch was that one scene in TGS #10 where they made all the characters spin 360 degrees. And that isn't even real 3D. It's just careful frame by frame movement to LOOK like 3D. REAL 3D wold take months and months to make something simple. Heck, how long do you think it took to make 3D games on the N64?

Griffpatch is creating a multiplayer 3d lazer tag! Hopefully he will create a easy way to make 3d worlds. k9lego.

If you want to make 3D simulations, use StarLogo TNG. It's made by an MIT group and it has the same kind of snap together blocks as Scratch.

StarLogo TNG is hard, I couldn't figure out how to do anything.

Exactly. It's considered _easy_ 3D programming.

Like said, Scratch is just as 3D as games like Mincraft–you get a 2D screen to program on.
