Game Developers often derive their ideas at Game Jams. In a game jam, participants create a computer game in a limited amount of time. At the end of the Jam, the games are published to be played and receive feedback.

Now we are organizing an online Game Jam for Scratch Games at itch.io, a well-known Indie game site! If you want to make a game, you are warmly invited to join!

The game must be finished until April 30 - so there is plenty of time to make a great game!

The Game Jam submission page is https://itch.io/jam/scratch-jam

Rules:

* The game should be made with Scratch and relate to the topic “sky”
* It should be a new project made for the game jam. It is ok to remix an engine or a significantly smaller prototype.
* Collaboration and teams are allowed, please mention your colleagues contribution on the game page
* As a tribut to the international scope of Scratch, you can make the Game in any language.
* You can use pre-made assets but the whole game must be published under a CC-BY 3.0 licences.

To submit your game, you need to make an account on itch.io and to make a game page with your game. You can submit the game as Scratch flash file or with an html5 player like Sulfurous or Phosphorus.

BTW, there are different possibilities to add a scratch game on itch.io. One is to download your Scratch Game and then convert it to an SWF using Junebeetle's Online Converter. I usually use the settings “Autostart” and the double resolution, that is 960 x 720. Then you get an SWF file which you can upload on the itch.io game page.

I searched a bit and found out that SeptimusHeap was organizing a Scratch Game Jam in 2012, in which you had one week to complete a project with certain themes.
