Scratch & Picoboard
I'm trying to work with Ubuntu 12.10 and Scratch 1.4, Anybody knows how to install Picoboard in a Linux-Ubuntu computer?

Maximo,
I am having the same problem with Ubuntu 13.04. I am able to connect to my Arduino board as /dev/ttyACM0 but when I try to select a port in Scratch 1.4 I get “No Serial Ports Found”. I tried using a terminal emulator (which does work with ttyACM0), but tried reconfiguring it for /dev/ttys0 and no luck there either.
If I figure it, I will send you a message, and if you do, could you please do the same.
I may try and look at the code, but not sure if I will understand Squeak or how to deal with that environment.
Things I tried:
1) Making sure I am a member of the dialout group
2) Started Scratch in sudo (thinking maybe it is root permissions needed).

Although I prefer to run in Linux, out of desperation, I brought up a Windows 8 image in VirtualBox to try a ScratchBoard emulator I wrote for an Arduino board and it communicates without a problem.
I looked at http://squeakvm.org/unix/. Apparently there have been some fixes for serial communication which may, or may not fix the problem I have in having the serial ports recognized when I right click on the ScratchBoard Watcher to select the serial/USB port. Since I am only trying to build an Arduino based ScratchBoard in anticipation of when Scratch 2.0 supports it, working in Windows for the time being meets my needs.
If I get a chance, I will rebuild Scratch 1.4 with the latest and greatest SqueakVM (assuming I can figure out how a Squeak environment works). If I do so, I will let you know if I am successful in fixing the problem or not.
If you make progress, please keep me informed as well.
Good Luck!
