Are Photos of yourself allowed on Scratch?

Say I was wearing just a plain t-shirt, with a white background, and I took a photo. Do you think I would be allowed to share a project with yourself on scratch? I have seen photos of pets and stuff but I was wondering about photos of yourself?

There's no rule against it, but to protect your identity, it is recommended that you don't post photos of yourself on Scratch.

If you are under 15 it's probably best you do not put a pic of yourself on Scratch as a profile pic. It might be considered posting personal information which violates the Community Guidelines.

I find it pretty much takes away from the point of scratch. Unless it's totally necessary, I wouldn't bother.

As far as I know, there's no rule against it, but for your safety it'd be best not to — people could probably find a way to somehow get personal information from your picture. (I'm not completely sure but I bet they could find a way to.)

Posting photos which show your face are not prohibited by the Scratch Team, but they may request some form of parental permission under certain circumstances. You'll already have heard this hundreds of times, but it's always best to check with whoever looks after you before putting any kind of personally identifiable information online.

I wouldn't really say that is appropriate or relevant to this discussion…

Agreed, what does that have to do with this question?

Yup- if you'd like to close it yourself, you can wait for 24 hours after you first started the discussion, and click the blue “close topic” button. If you don't want to wait, you can report the topic and a moderator will close it for you.
Since it seems that you're satisfied with the response, I'll report this to be closed for you.
