Bar-code/QR code Scanning

Using a webcam I would like the ability to scan Bar-codes/QR codes

here are some example blocks:
Scan for QR/Barcode and wait

I don't know… what would it be useful for??

That would be very difficult for the following reasons…

1) You would have to add the database of every Bar-code/QR code.

2) Some camera's are not the best quality.

3) Some QR/Bar-codes might not be appropriate.

I wanted to make a game where you can print out paper and fold it into a character and scan the bottom to put it in the game
kinda like Lego Dimensions or Amiibo or Disney Infinity… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toys-to-life

That would be even more difficult. For it to work, you would have to insert all the items into a storage. It's difficult if you don't have a HD webcam. No support, too many flaws.

NINJA'D AGAIN.

1)I don't think QR code and barcodes have a Database QR code on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code

2) Well then only people with quality cameras could use it

3) It's Up to the users what they scan…

There are few reasons why this wouldn't work because of this.

1) You need a storage of something that holds all the QR/Bar codes data. Otherwise how would we recognize the codes? (I used the word database because I couldn't think of another word.)

2) That's not fair to those who have lower quality cameras. Here on Scratch we want to make sure that everyone can view everyone else's projects.

3) That's still not safe if we can't control what is scanned.

The disadvantages weigh out the advantages. Plus, hardly anyone uses QR codes anymore except for those weird ones on fruit crates at the store.

I'm also thinking about this. If there's an extension about it, it will be cool.

No support, because of too little uses.

Scratch can't print paper.
