Good 3D game engines?

Tried using Game Maker: Studio, but I couldn't get the license key to work
Tried using Unity, way too hard
Tried using Unreal Engine 4: couldn't be bothered to sign up and all that

I want something graphical (not writing code, kind of like Scratch) and easy to use.
I dont really need anything big and powerful, i just want to create sanic gaems

You won't be making any good games if you can't be bothered to learn

Sadly, none such thing exists.

I'm sure one is lying around somewhere

Roblox Studio is a 3d game engine , but it's using a programming text language called Lua that got it's own customisation known as RBX Lua that contains Api made by Roblox for their engine. It's quite an easy engine to use and get easy to it even if you have to code , but your game won't leave the Roblox sphere

If your not willing to write code, you are going to get nowhere with creating a software / game. You need to at least be willing to code if you want to create a good game.

In the way of making games, here are some of your options :

  • Make a game using a Game Engine (just do a google search, there are thousands of them)
  • Code a game using a 3d library (although this is much more complex, in some cases it may be quicker than using Unity or another Game Engine)
  • Code your game from nothing (Takes a ton of time, but a great challenge!)

There's a ScratchX plugin called Scratch3D or something, but I can't guarantee this works.

I know Blender has a game engine. I've never used it, but I do know there are lots of tutorials and stuff on Blender, so I'd say it's worth looking into at least. Plus, it's free and open source, so you don't have to worry about licenses and stuff.

I've had the same problem for a while, and from your options I don't think you have much choice. Game Maker studio is sort of like scratch, but terrible for 3d games. Unreal Engine 4 you would need a beefy computer to run it, Unity is probably your only choice. I've heard good things about Cryengine, but sort of has the same problem as UE4.

Secondly, there is no game engine that uses scratch-like blocks, that's just not really usable in game engines, as most game engines are targeted at developers. You will have to learn a programming language. I would recommend C++/C# or Python, (Codeacademy.com/learn or sololearn.com) There is just no possible way

Finally, I would just recommend using Unity, it's ok for smaller games, and could help you in the long run. I enjoy using it, since it's not heavy on graphics for most computers.

Or if you really don't care get Clickteam Fusion. Paid but good for small, stupid stuff (100$ but got it for 20$ during steam summer sale)

Sorry for wall of text

OK - so here is the thing. You can start off with visual drag and drop platform like the one offered by Game Maker Studio or go for script heavy game engine like Unity3d, Unreal Engine, CryEngine or Source engine. Scripting can take a bit of time if you are not a programmer but it gives you endless opportunities.
Unreal Engines visual scripting with Blueprints is also a great option in there. You need to try to know.
Note - I did a research a couple of months back and even compiled a detailed article - best game engines. You can check it out for a brief summary of leading game engines out there in the market.

I settled for Unity in the end and am pretty happy about it, would be releasing my first game very soon. Cheers!
