New features for lists in forum posts (that contains a request to the Scratch Team for when editing or deleting posts)
I made the markup that I'd suggest for this visible:
[list=Euler's number, spacing=0.5]
[*] 2.718281828459. This is an example of what I want.
[*] 3.218281828459. I'm able to start lists at numbers that aren't integers.
[*] 3.718281828459. Obviously, there would be a limit to the number of decimal digits; I think that maximum 12-18 digits would be reasonable.
[*] 4.218281828459. I could also change the difference between adjacent terms on the list.
[*] 4.718281828459. In this example, I've changed it from 1 to 0.5
[*] 5.218281828459. I'd also like to be able to have coding to put in subsections, like on the next lines:
[**] a. This feature would also be available for bulleted lists, not just numbered lists.
[**] b. The coding for it might be a double asterisk.
[**] c. This would be so we could explain steps in a list in more detail, among other things.
[*] 5.718281828459. I'm sorry for putting too many digits the original time, but Scratch Team, next time, if the problem is that there are too many decimal digits, would you please reduce the number of decimal digits, which would be directly addressing the problem, or send me an alert telling me to fix it instead of just deleting everything and then replacing it with a short piece of text that was neither the main idea of my post nor a suggestion? (Although I'm sure that the fact that the post was changed into something completely unrelated was completely unintentional on the side of the Scratch Team.)
[**] a. Even if you did do that (in fact, if you edited my post at all), would you please send me an alert so I would know to not do it the future and so I could check the post to fix it if necessary
[***] i. And in that case, would you please send me a text copy of the original post so I wouldn't have to start over?
[***] ii. Also, I think that to indent some more, we should just add another asterisk to the markup.
[***] iii. And after you had edited this post, I think that you should have read through it and made sure that what you had replaced my post with looked like something that belonged in the suggestion forums.
[****] A. Had you done this, you would have seen that it did not look like something that belonged in the suggestions forums and that you had edited it in a wrong way.
[****] B. It should just be a general rule of advice for editing everything: Am I creating another problem?
[****] C. I'm only making a suggestion to you because I feel that you made a mistake.
[*] 6.218281828459. If you want to know what the Scratch Team reduced my post to, they edited it to, “2.71828 Euler's Number is…between adjacent numbers.”
[**] a. What I wrote started with, "Alright, apparently I did put too many digits…"
[**] b. I kept what the Scratch Team wrote there because I'm not sure if I'm allowed to delete anything by the Scratch Team because–it's the Scratch Team.
[*] 6.718281828459. Please note that I included suggested markup for this new feature in the post so everyone could see.

I'm confused. Can you try rewording it so I can understand? XD

I'm confused. Can you try rewording it so I can understand? XDNumbered lists can now start on decimals.

So instead of going 1 2 3 4 5 etc they might start on say 1/2 then 3/2 then 5/2?I'm confused. Can you try rewording it so I can understand? XDNumbered lists can now start on decimals.

Decimal indexes don't really make sense… what's the 0.5th item of a list even supposed to mean?

Decimal indexes don't really make sense… what's the 0.5th item of a list even supposed to mean? One; it's for fun. Two, what if I make a list like this:
- Click on the sprite.
- Click on “upload costumes.”
- Double-click the icon.
Select the “costumes” tab
and
Browse through the finder window until you find the image that you want to use as a costume
but if I just add it to the list with spacing (the difference between the numbers of adjacent lines) one, the numbers in the response will be off, and people might get confused, so I change the spacing to 0.5.

It would be written as 0.5 1.5 2.5, but yes, you're right. Also, maybe there should be an option so that lists can go like 1 1.5 2 2.5 3 or 0.3 0.6 0.9 1.2So instead of going 1 2 3 4 5 etc they might start on say 1/2 then 3/2 then 5/2?I'm confused. Add another item when needed.Decimal indexes don't really make sense… what's the 0.5th item of a list even supposed to mean? One; it's for fun. Two, what if I make a list like this:, but the list is missing some in-between steps, so someone quotes me in a response and gives me feedback and numbers the feedback so I'll know what is about what. I add
No support, this makes 0 sense, and as you said, ‘for fun’ is not a valid reason to add something.

But if the numbers for the same item are different in different posts, that could confuse some people.Add another item when needed.Decimal indexes don't really make sense… what's the 0.5th item of a list even supposed to mean? One; it's for fun. I'm still confused…
OOhh. In that case, I would just not even use the list function. I would type it myself.Decimal indexes don't really make sense… what's the 0.5th item of a list even supposed to mean? One; it's for fun. I'm still confused…Yeah, but using the list function is easier because then, you don't have to type in the numbers manually, and if you want to insert another step into the beginning or middle of the list before you post the comment, you don't have to manually change twelve or so numbers.OOhh. In that case, I would just not even use the list function. I would type it myself.Decimal indexes don't really make sense… what's the 0.5th item of a list even supposed to mean? One; it's for fun. Well, you could do other things to indicate a new entry was added between two. You could bold it, or italicize it, too.Hmmm…That's what I do, and that's what I'm talking about.

Not sure what you're suggesting. No support until you explain it a bit more clearly. Please read suggestions one and two of the Constitution! My least favorite thing on these forums is when someone violates multiple suggestions in one post/comment!
Also, most of the post is in the format that I'm proposing. How is it not obvious?

I couldn't understand what you where trying to suggest because of the way you wrote the post. If you want to have all Scratch posts look like that then no support. Also it's not a Constitution, it's a post made by a user. Not sure what you're suggesting. No support until you explain it a bit more clearly. Please read suggestions one and two of the Constitution!
