So, what do you guys think about Tynker?
exactly thats called stealing someones hard work I agree with @MelonInc. It is nice that Tynker uses HTML5 and CSS3 as these are more adaptable to the future than Flash, but the blocks are just copied. Scratch is free, but Tynker costs money. Scratch is available to everyone, but Tynker is only giving access to schools. I think Tynker's funding should go towards Scratch. They are basically trying to make money off of what Scratch does, while presenting themselves as “new”. Their lessons are a nice feature that maybe Scratch could add, though.
_meow_ oh it doesn't work here

Yeah. Money hoggers.borrows it pretty much copied the scratchblocks but changed the graphics then it charges money for their “borrowed work” The developers of Tynker did not reach out to us before the launch, so we were surprised to see how much Tynker borrows from Scratch.
As the saying goes, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and we always appreciate seeing how different people and projects are inspired by the Scratch approach to programming.
While there is considerable overlap, there are differences. For example, Tynker is a commercial venture, while Scratch is free.
I have tried lots of game engines scratch is still better

you think tyker is awesome it just makes you waste you're money i even tried it out and it was awesome
did give credits to Scratch.inspired the pretty much stole the ST's work Looks like theyTynker is a new computing platform designed by Silicon Valley technologists specifically to teach children computational learning and programming skills in a fun and imaginative way. but that doesn't count if they try to sell someone elses work the ST should sue them. mimcry is the greatest flattery or somthing like that

Let's be reasonable here: they did include what they copied/were inspired from, so that's preponderance of credit there even if it isn't literal. And even if it's a “waste of money”, it does offer codes not present in Scratch.you think tyker is awesome it just makes you waste you're money i even tried it out and it was awesomedid give credits to Scratch.inspired the pretty much stole the ST's work Looks like theyTynker is a new computing platform designed by Silicon Valley technologists specifically to teach children computational learning and programming skills in a fun and imaginative way. tynker should give 50% at least profit to ST since the stole their work

Tynker includes a paid lesson for its paid software. (However, you can use the paid lesson on Scratch, which is free, and it will work block to block, except for a different cloning system and built in physics, which does not help encourage children to use math to make their own physics engine, which is a big part of programming: using math!) Er, I mean, TYNKER IS THE BEST! Hail tynker! You know you want to throw away your money for something that could be obtained for free, and I mean free without pirating or stealing! Especially when the free one came before the paid one, unlike Openoffice. Just take our lesson for our paid software that works block for block the same as the free alternative, unlike other paid software which contain more features than free alternatives, we offer the same stuff!

(jh1234l great post btw) tynker should give 50% at least profit to ST since the stole their work
That's not how companies work. They made the software, why would they give their cash to ST? Why?
They made Tynker. They should atleast have credit for making software, so maybe they should keep the money they get!
It's just not economically viable for a silicon valley company to give 50% of their profit to another company, especially when they're already failing.
You might think it wastes money. That's an opinion. Also, who is ‘randomsomeone’? Did you make him up?
The ST might try to sue them, but i doubt it will work. Suing is for when someone breaks patents/copies your work with nothing new. Take for example the Chintendo Vii, a console in China. The Vii obviously copies the Wii remote, and it even uses some of the same motion technology. Nintendo could sue them.
Tynker is not the same. At least it has lessons. I agree, the price is overboard, but I doubt the Scratch Team would do much.

I agree it is just a weak copy of scratch. although the sprites on tynker are a LOT better I say Tynker is a complete copy of scratch. They don't even give credit to scratch, and it is just sooo alike.
Heres a pic…
