Trustworthy YouTube to mp3??

Don't worry about it. I do it too. Personally, I use Flvto YouTube Downloader. There is both an online and offline version of this program, and it can download YouTube videos in various formats, including mp3 and mp4.

Depending on where you are and what you use it on it could be entirely legal. “The law” is not global.

i use this 4k video downloader app for my laptop, it's p efficient imo but not sure how that'll work for any of you guys

it died a while ago, now it only works sometimes
it used to be like, the youtube downloady thing

Maybe that's why it died; perhaps it was getting too much attention, so they had to shut it down so it didn't get taken down.

i use http://www.youtube-mp3.org similar to a lot of other people on this thread and it works absolutely perfectly, but now it's literally down all the time

that doesn't mean that every other one isn't trustworthy though, if you just google youtube to mp3 converter most if not all of them are probably trustworthy

If you've got any command-line skills (and if you wanna do programming after scratch, either as a career or a hobby, it's really good to learn), youtube-dl is your best bet. You don't have to go through dodgy sites or download sketchy extensions or anything. It's pretty easy to use, provided you're moderately comfortable with the command line:

//download video
youtube-dl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
//download just audio
youtube-dl -x https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

Also until recently I didn't know that stream-ripping was illegal. :O
