Well, if any of you have ever been on ROBLOX's forums, you have probably been to the OT section. It is a great place, and I used to be active on there. It was some of the best times I've had. Now that I'm WAY into Scratch, I would like to propose an Off-Topic forum section. Here are some of the specific rules that could be implemented. (If it were to be added to the forums)

1. Normal Scratch Rules
2. Must be OT, and not fit in any other categories. (I know it sounds stupid to be off-topic to OT, but it would prevent things that belong elsewhere.)
3. No click-bait stuff.
4. No religious or political-based topics.

Basically, the usual stuff. It would open up many new possibilities for people. Please consider this, ST.

Also, concerning flame-wars, I'm open to suggestions as to how to fix that! ~~Beck

Note: I am aware that this is in the list of rejected ideas, but I'm trying to fix the problems that the original had, so that it could potentially revived.

Sorry, but this probably won't be added.

One used to exist, but it was shut down due to a large amount of “flame wars” and difficulty moderating.

An on-topic post about off-topic posts. Interesting.

Well, apparently this is in the list of rejected ideas, but this adds more to the table. So, any suggestions for me to add to the post to make ST possibly considered.

Agreed. ST have seen to topics about rejected suggestions to see thoughts on them.

(Hopefully this one is)

I totally agree, originally the old forums apparently had a TBGs and Off-Topic style, of course combatting spam is a first-hand thing. There's also topics that may bring up controversial subjects (ex. “Who do you vote for?” Or “what religion are you?” Clearly Scratchers have an attraction to argumentative posts at times ) .

The final alternative is make our own forums.
(I can make us one if you want)

Personally, I'm fully supportive of this.

We could make it against the rules to speak of religion or politics (in OT), to prevent flame-wars, of course!

Update: Added it to the rules!

Yes, though, there would be a lot of rules, and then OT could just fit under the two current “OT” sections (Reading/Creating)…
I think it's best create our own forums.
I'm neutral on this idea:

-Awesome to add
-Doesn't matter if they dont

But, I think that rules are neccasary. (In order to prevent the fate of the old OT from repeating itself.)

Any more suggestions to for the potential OT forum section?

I think the problem with an off-topic section is that it is so open to posting that moderation becomes much more difficult.

If there was some way to reduce the need of moderation than this might just work out, but I'm not aware of any method to do so.

We're working that out. Feel free to suggest things!

Sorry - we're still not interested. We would prefer to keep our resources focused on supporting Scratch. There are other sites out there for free-ranging discussions on pretty much any topic you can think of - or, you can make your own site (as suggested in this topic). Maybe you should get together on a “Things I'm Making and Creating” topic and continue that conversation.
