Making dog toys
Does anyone have good ideas for homemade dog toys? I've made one kind that I got from a book where you braid pieces of dish towel and then put treats in the braids. They are fun to make, and dogs love them!

Anything with a squeaker or noise box a dog will love. Something like that with a stuffed animal, maybe?

Tennis balls seem to be the perfect dog toys in my experience.

My dog doesn't play with toys
he lays in the garage
under his gray blankets
alone
marooned
soulless
plotting his revenge on mankind
for the times he has been forsaken
on the infinite sea of human impulse
trapped in his own mind
locked away from the norm
unable to free himself
from his horrific tomb of sorrow
inflicted upon him by his rulers
but there comes a time
that he will have his way
As for serious dog toy advice, the first line of my dog's third person memoirs is true; he doesn't play with toys. Larger dogs tend to enjoy tennis balls while smaller dogs like rubber ducks. Heck, another dog we know plays with cat toys.

My dog goes wild for this duck puppet I have, or Mr. Ducky as I call it. I put it on my hand and she basically mauls it like a bear (except she's only 17 pounds)

My dog Chews the squeak out of His ball It gets so annoying Time after time But Try toilet/Cardboard rolls (Off toilet paper or kitchen towel) Then Sellotape the ends together of one side, Then stuff treats in the other. ^-^ I think all dogs like this (But it gets messy

We can't give my dog any soft toys or rawhide. She just tears them apart. Last time, she got a pirate squirrel toy, and when we came back to let her out, the tail, the giant, fuzzy tail, was gone. When we walked into the kitchen, we found it. In pieces. All. Over. The floor. Basically what we can only give her is tough rubber toys like tires (miniature, of course) and those KONG Rubber things. She doesn't play Fetch, either. She just plays You Throw Me The Stick, I'll Go Get It, Run Past You To Over There, Lay Down Then Eat It And Turn It Into Woodchips.
Definetly something rubber.

Yeah, mine pounces on squeaky toys, runs around with them, squeaks them repeatedly, and then takes them back to his bed. I call it half-fetching.

I've become really interested in do it yourself dog toys, but a lot of the ideas I find involve cutting open a tennis ball, which doesn't seem like the greatest idea.
