yeah that would be neat. but like, if you think about it, even if the aliens are good, people are going to try to kill them anyways and villainise them (thats not a word but who cares NOT I HAH)

People are afraid of monsters because they're something that science cannot explain, something that we know very little of. Something that we don't know the limits to.

The Other Side of Things
A fountain flows,
Though not of water.
The sun rains down,
Though not of light.
The trees wave ceaselessly,
Though not of wind.
And I stand trembling,
Though not of cold.
(heheh when you throw a poem together in three seconds cuz you found old poetry of yours)

I Do Not Fear the Void
I sit at the edge, and stare down the depths
They cannot frighten me.
I hear people say
That it's scary down there
But I think they're wrong.
It is surely dark, and surely far,
But that does not mean it's evil.
They all have they're theories
Of what there transpires
But none dare find out.
They are afraid to be wrong
And they know that they are
And so they shun it away
So they don't have to face it
Or rather,
Face themselves.
I sit at the edge, and stare down the depths
They cannot frighten me.

Quantum Uprising
I floated for untold eons through the endless space. Time had no meaning here. Life, Death, End, Time, none of them could touch this place.i was completely and utterly alone, free only to observe the ever-shifting ensemble of color and light, whichever seemed to hug me and strip my flesh at the same time. I know not when the Black Tide took me into this place, nor why we stepped through that door at all. If only I had not been so daft, so ignorant as to expect a lost regiment of 200 men and women could find peace from that world by entering this one.
I know not when my eternal journey ended, either. Suddenly there was deep darkness, a steering pain… then nothing. No feeling, no emotion, no light nor sound nor presence. It was as if I had simply stopped existing…
And thus, Quantum was born. (I don't feel like writing right now nor can I)

I slip. I see my hands letting go. Then I see nothing. No memories. No questions. No thoughts. I wake with a thud. I realize that I have fallen about 7 feet. I moan. It's frustrating. I feel like I've broken a rib. My sister calls my parents. “Panda fell!” (I'm using ‘Panda’ as my name for safety reasons) I'm angry with myself.
Later, I learn that I'm surprisingly all okay. My sister said I screamed when I fell. That is surprising. I didn't hear anything. So I've come to the theory that this is a dream I'm having while knocked out in an emergency room. Sometimes I'm worried it's one I'm having as I die.
But, if it is, I'm going to make it a good one.

Starmine Story
a dream that i had oh…. 4 years ago?
I wake up in what i presume to be my bed. its much larger than i remember… much, much larger. i walk around this giant bed-plateau, and find that my bunk bed (or at least my bunk) is now part of Minecraft… or so i thought. i was happily building away at this tower that stretched down the side of my bedteau to the ocean that aparently came from Block Story, when a horde of Zerglings interrupted me and fell into my tower. somehow they hit me, even though i was flying, and i careen into the ocean. its a Block Story ocean, and therefore you can see perfecty at any depth, and its kinda nice… except t heres a shark spawner block nearby. by now i somehow figured out it was a dream, and didnt really worry when the terribly animated creatures swam towards me. then the horrible “bite” animation started, and i felt a sharp stab of pain. this is repeated 3 or 4 times, and it really ticked me off. finally i woke up, and went to tell my brother and parents about another weird dream of mine. when i finish, my brother comes up to me and goes
“uh… yeah… i was trying to wake you up… and i was punching you and slapping your face and pinching you.”
moral of the story: dreams CAN assimilate real experiences into itself. and it isnt always fun.

I had an idea…
What if there was an omnipotent spirit with all the knowledge that has ever existed and the ability to see and know everything, as well as being bound the the complete truth, but their only boundary is that they can only answer yes and no?
I want to write a story based around this but I need ideas for it.

actually, astronomers look at “nothing” quite often. well, its “nothing” if you dont believe n aether/ether, or take into consideration dark matter, but it literally just looks like black. thats what the space between stars is. What would nothing look like?
THE MORE YOU KNOOOOOOOoooooowwwwwww (starrrrrr)
p.s. not saying its obvious i justfelt like utting that at the end

true, very true. in that case, i guess the only real answer is in theoretical physics. you cants “see” atoms (in the traditional sense of the term), because light doesnt really work the same way at that level or something. but i guess like in theoretical physics, theres something about how the total absence of matter is basically just black, like complete and total black, since there isnt anythin for light to reflect off.
…ok i need to research this more. meh. too much science in too small an amount of time.

The young Calaban ran around in the rubble, its lanky green arms covered in soot. its chest heaved with every breath. it knew it was free, but it had no clue what that meant or how to cope with it. the slave uniform– a white shirt and brown slacks– was torn in more than a few places, making the embers that continued to fall burn all the more painfully on his hairless skin, roughened from years of hard labor. but now he was free. he didnt know how, or why, but he knew the cruel whips were gone. but he didnt think the rest were gone.
a shot fired off in the distance, its producer unseen through the thick cloud of smoke that hugged the wreckage of the slaving ship. the Calaban shrieked and darted off, panting in the way Calabans often do. from the smoke emerged a hefty figure, an Orc. in his right hand he held a pistol, his left holding his side, where a piece of shrapnel from the fallen ship sat rather uncomfortably.
well. il use this for something sometime. right now it isnt working…

Journey Log: Day 12, week 20, year 3-Traveling through the lollipop forests
Dear Journal:
I fear I'll have to stop recording my mission for the next few days. I'm passing through an area known by the locals to be dangerous, filled to the brim with swirl-wolves, bandits, robbers, and vicious monsters. I do not know if these stories are true, but I fear you are too important to lose to them. Thus I will travel hastily, therefore not having enough time to log my trip. I shall use the best of my memories to fill in the blanks after my dangerous stretch is over.
Continuing today's entry, I entered the massive grove of trees in the center of lolli known as the Lollipop forests. It's a truly amazing sight. The vast red and white lollis spread out in every direction, sloping up and down the lush hillsides dotting the grass everywhere I step. The trunks are hard and brittle, their mangled green roots stretching into the long-worn-out forest path that was designed in 1853 to give a somewhat safe path for travelers through the forest. It has since been put out of use in favor of another, more smooth path along the edge of the forest, but I was curious as to what had become of the forgotten path and decided to take it. It could be in better shape, as the wafer dirt signaling where the path used to be is now crumbled and at points it was hard to tell where the original path went. I wonder if the path could be rebuilt at some point? Note: ask the lolli officials upon reaching the other side.
As the sun began to set I turned off the path and entered a small clearing, the dust being packed down harder as if someone had been here. I wonder if I should look into this. Anyways, the lolli trees were shorter and so i laid down my heavy shoulder bag and set up camp, using the surprisingly flammable flake pine branches I collected for kindling along the way to set up a delightfully peppermint-scented fire. I now sit in its wavering light writing my last entry this week, looking up at the twisted lollis that form a circle around me. I am sketching the clearing for future reference. Goodbye, journal for this week.
