Blocking certain people?
Hi, this is just something that I was thinking that should be added to scratch. I think that we should have an option to block certain people. Lets say that there's someone named A, and someone named B. B is annoying A. B isn't being annoying to anyone else, but A doesn't want to talk to B or let B look at their projects. A doesn't want B to become completley banned from scratch ether. So they have an option to block them from their profile. This means that when B tries to go to A's profile, it redirects him to the homepage and tells him “A has blocked you from their profile.” When B tries to get to A's projects, it redirects him. The same goes for A. He can try to look at B's profle and projects, but it will redirect him as well. Now lets say that A and B both are friends with C. C shares a project saying “Hi!” Since B can look at that project, he posts “Hi!” in the comments. A goes to the same project. He looks in the comments section. He sees a comment box. He looks at the username. It says “You blocked this user.” and in the comment box it says “You cannot see what blocked users have posted.” So A cannot see what B typed, or what C may have typed back to him. So he just ignores it and posts “Hi!” to C as well. B sees the comment box. The username says “This user blocked you” and in the comment box it says “You cannot see what users who have blocked you have posted.” Eventually, lets say that A wants to unblock B. They go to a tab under their username in the top right corner that says “Manage Blocks” and sees B's name. He presses a button that says unblock, and A and B can now talk to eachother and see what they are posting. But lets say that after A had blocked B, B had blocked A as well. When he logs into scratch, he has a message in his mail and it says “A wishes to unblock you. Do you agree or disagree?” And there is a button he can press, agreeing or disagreeing. NOTE: Someone who is blocked will not be able to request to be unblocked to the user who blocked them, it will only work if the users have BOTH blocked eachother.
Thank you to anyone who read the whole thing!

Blocking certain people?
No, it's not a duplicate, it's rejected. Oh ok, I hadn't seen it because there are a million suggestions

Paddle2See wrote:Before you suggest anything, make sure to read the stickies!!! They are very helpful.
Please add “Ignore List” to the list of rejected suggestions. We found that it just buried problems rather than fixing them. It was also very easy to circumvent by creating an alt account. Additionally, it was confusing having multiple views of the site - things that some people could see but others could not. (source)

If you don't know what “stickies” are, they are the top posts of every forum. They have a little pushpin instead of a circle on the left side.

Great Idea! But Sorry, Scratch Has Already Rejected This. But I Have A Felling They Might Add It.
If The Person You Are Trying To Block Is Being Unkind, Inappropriate, Or Violent You Can Report
Them!
