How to beat unresponsive controls?

On my project, Cat Escape, the character moves by jumping and walking. Sometimes the controls are unresponsive so the character doesn't move, but then it does move after a few seconds. How do I stop this?

Does anyone know what a signature is? I mean, I've already seen 6-7 people get confused.

Can I see this project? It may be because you have all your controls in different scripts.

Get rid of the forever loops in the play and +1 lives sprites would help a lot. Also your highly nested logic with loads of if touching black is not the best way to do things. Check out other platform games and their implementation should be much cleaner by detecting where the hit is and just backing out enough to remain on the floor.
